Dixys Mid-School Favorites

Since I've been non-stop listening to new music today, I thought it'd be nice to shame(fully/lessy) reminisce in some old favorites (what I can remember at least). Feel free to leave some of yours, and/or eviscerate me for mine in the comments below!
1My Chemical Romance
The Black Parade

I'll be honest, I like to do things the easy way. That being said, getting the obvious ones out there first seems to be in good character. MCR's The Black Parade defined most of my Ipod library, and to this day I can't bear to look at it with any malice or regret.
2Tokyo Police Club
Champ

Not everything I listened to in Middle School makes me cringe and wince, one example of this is Tokyo Police Club's "Champ". I still revisit this album to this day, and there's something magical about Champ's ability to make me feel nostalgic for a period of my life I've honestly forgotten.
3Queen
The Best Of Queen

As a kid, I used to listen to Pittsburgh's classic/soft rock station 3WS, and the classic/modern pop station Wish 99.7. These two stations combined ended up turning me into one of those kids. I was already one of those other kids who thought they were so profound for listening to generic pop-punk bands, so I thought the next logical step was to become a Classic rock snob. Thankfully I grew out of those phases, but one band who has remained with me from this period (a band that frequented both the aforementioned radio stations) was none other than Queen. Maybe being one of "those kids" wasn't such a bad thing after all.
4The Muppets
The Muppets

Alright, so this one will be a little harder to defend, but I'll still stand by it. When I was a kid I didn't grow up with cable television, I grew up watching PBS and old vhs tapes in my attic. These experiences gave way to my love for all things Jim Henson, and the most beloved subject of this love was The Muppets. So when I heard they were bringing them back with a new feature-length film I was fucking ecstatic. Looking back on it, it may not have been wise to download the entire Motion Picture Soundtrack, but "The Rainbow Connection" being my most replayed song can be used as a testament to the power of nostalgia.
5Barry Manilow
Greatest Hits

I...actually don't remember why I liked this one so much. I think it had something to do with my aunt and I going to his concert every year until he stopped touring. In any case, Barry has a special place in my heart, and I wish him good health in his 74th year.
6Immortal Technique
Revolutionary Volume 1

Hmm, ain't that something?
7Justice

My memory is extremely limited, so this is probably the end of this list. There's a few scattered singles/single tracks here and there, but nothing else substantial. I actually wasn't aware of all the critical acclaim "Cross" had received until I wanna say, 3 years after the fact. I was (and still am) just a dumb kid who liked groovy music, so "†" or just "Cross" was an instant download from the first time I heard "D.A.N.C.E". All in all, I think this album is a fitting end to this disaster of a list. dank u
