Masochist
10.05.20 | Man, Porcupine Tree is one of the most important bands in my life, and I have Sputnik to thank for them (and by extension, Steven Wilson).
'The Incident' was the first album I got to be excited for, so I probably would put it a little higher (but not too much). The top 2 SW solo albums would be shuffled in with the top 4 PT albums (which are the right albums, and the order can change depending on the day), and 'Fear of a Blank Planet' would be up there with them.
For discussion's sake...Porcupine Tree's best song is "Arriving Somewhere, But Not Here." Steven Wilson's best song is "Luminol."
I appreciate this list greatly. |

10.05.20 | Now you have to check out Steven Wilson-adjacent projects like No-Man, Blackfield, and Storm Corrosion.
...Actually, you for real don't though, I don't know if anything in those side projects equals up to the stuff on this list, but it's probably worth a listen anyways. |

10.05.20 | Nice to see FoaBP that low, but would be nice to see it lower. Have such a soft spot for the Up the Downstair/Staircase Infinities era, though Psych Tree & Grace4D always the best |
0xME
10.05.20 | Time Flies by itself should warrant a higher placing of The Incident imo |

10.05.20 | 18, 10, 9, 8, 5 and 4 would be higher in my list
Cool list though man |

Solid ranking in general. I agree with porcupinetheather with the FoaBP ranking, but I think 11 and 20 could be swapped around with TRTRtS being lower and Signify being placed higher (I have it at #5 in my own ranking). I'll also second Masochist with how critical this discography has been in my discovery of new music and it's still the discography I come back to most often. |
