Personally I feel they lack the prominent tech-death-y influence of for instance (early) Dillinger or the thrash-iness that for instance Converge or Botch weave into their riffs (there are even times where Converge got riffs with a clear bluesy doom influence) to be considered even remotely metal. Rolo Tomassi for the most part keep themselves firmly rooted in post hardcore afaic, but that's just me. |
