Sage Tellah's 2016

My top 25 albums this year! Lots of great stuff released, and it was tough to stop being a spoony bard and narrow this down.

7The Dillinger Escape Plan

A varied and intense album that is the perfect goodbye from DEP
6Artifex Pereo

very unique post-hardcore/progressive rock
5The Dear Hunter
Act V: Hymns with the Devil in Confessional

Have no idea how it was possible for Act IV to be followed up by an equally stellar final Act. Absolutely gorgeous.
4In Angles
Cascading Home

so catchy and fun, perfect for post-hardcore fans who miss Lower Definition. Such an underrated gem.
3A Tribe Called Quest
We got it from Hereā€¦ Thank You 4 Your service

One of the best hip-hop double albums I've heard, and my favourite hip-hop album this year. It's incredibly consistent, and the beats are crafted meticulously and with a ton of attention to finite details. RIP
2Thank You Scientist
Stranger Heads Prevail

The perfect follow-up to their stellar debut
1Dance Gavin Dance

The best album with Tilian, and the most consistent since DBMII. Will Swan sounds more inspired than ever and Mess's delivery is great. People complain about the lyrics, but I don't really think it affects the album's quality at all. I'm just here for the dank riffs
