No Direction Home by Martin Scorsese

From youtube: "A Metaphorical road trip on the road of knowledge. Acceptance of oneself and death. Four friends going back home to East Siberia of Russia and then further away to the end of the world to try to understand their purpose and find the meaning in life." Gotta be good.

13Sixto Rodriguez
Coming From Reality

The Story of Sugar Man

From youtube: "In the early 1970s, Sixto Rodriguez was a Detroit folksinger who had a short-lived recording career with only two well received but non-selling albums. Unknown to Rodriguez, his musical story continued in South Africa where he became a pop music icon and inspiration for generations." I have watched this one and it's actually hilarious.

Telepathic With The Deceased

One Man Metal

3 videos which follow 3 one man black metal bands, really miserable and depressing documentary but one full of intresting insight in how they manage to keep their art alive despite it being in a niche scene and a one man show. This is the first part out of three parts.

25Dir En Grey

Dir en Grey - Tour Ghoul 2013

The fact this got subtitled is a miracle, following the band on their massive Ghoul tour which gets progressively better as it goes along. Ain't gonna be a indepth detail about the band's history or personal insight, just following the tour day to day and superb live performances on the other discs. Essential for fans of the band.

26Cannibal Corpse
The Bleeding

Centuries Of Torment

Huge 3 hour documentary full of rich detail about their local music scene growing up and becomes the world's biggest Death Metal band. Documentary so good I'd recommend any serious music fan watching it, not just fans of the band.

Moshpit (2015)

A a pretty intimate look at three fairly idiosyncratic Japanese groups: Have a Nice Day!, Nature Danger Gang, and Oyasumi Hologram. Also a miracle that this got subtitled thanks to a generous anonymous donor.

Adults!!!: Smart!!! Shithammered!!! And Excited By Nothing!!!!!!!

Never Get Tired: The Bomb the Music Industry Story (2015)

A great look at what drove the pretty regular guys who made some of the best indie-punk music of all time. Also some decent exploration of pay-what-you-want / donation based / free music in the Internet age.

29The National

Mistaken for Strangers (2013)

Partly a study of a fraternal relationship and partly a band-on-tour movie; these two aspects are balanced beautifully by the director, despite the fact that he is depicted as incompetent throughout the film. Worth noting that this is a crazy intimate and honest doco.

Milo Goes to College

Filmage: The Story of Descendents/ALL (2013)

For some reason, this is an insanely rewatchable documentary. It's also genuinely heartwarming and hilarious and DESCENDENTS YO.
