Also one of the first albums I was introduced to when I first joined this site. Pianos have since ditched this sound, which unlike many doesn't necessarily sadden me but this album is still my favorite of theirs. I think the screams express the anguish better than the downtrodden clean vocals do. |

Zany metal at its finest. Serg's vocals have always been some of my favorite in metal cause they are so god damn odd that it just stands out from a majority of metal. Plus the instrumentals on this are equally ridiculous, I love Daron's guitar playing and "Psycho" is probably my favorite System song. |

Senses Fail were one of my first introductions into scream oriented music and I still love this album. I go between this and Let It Enfold You as my favorite album by these guys. I've always loved Buddy's vocals and the lyrics are so great on this one. |

From the beginning you are hit with organs playing on "Deus Culpa" which sets the church esque atmosphere and leads into my favorite Ghost bass riff on "Con Clavi Dio". The production and overall tone maintains and only continues to haunt the listener |

La Dispute at their most vigorous yet also their most fragile, this album was one of the first albums that I was introduced to by my friend who got me into this site. Still one of my favorite albums to this day. |

Definitely Dance Gavin Dance's strongest album imo. Kurt's clean vocals paired with Will's screams really carry this album in the best way possible. This is also DGD at their most funky which, any of the users who know me would be unsurprised that I pick this album as my favorite as I'm notoriously a sucker for bass lines like the ones presented here. |

Truly one of the most unique and fascinating albums from vocalist/musician Kurt Travis. Known primarily to have been the lead singer of Dance Gavin Dance for a number of years, this release will surprise many. A thoroughly enjoyable album. |

Poetic, atmospheric, and dazzling mewithoutYou release what many call their best record. Their blend of post hardcore, indie, and even elements of folk is one of the most satisfying mixtures I've ever heard. Aaron is also an incredible lyricist and really breathes life into this release. |

So. God. Damn. Intense. This is an essential hardcore release as its not only conceptually one of the most moving records I've heard its also instrumentally and vocally one of the most aggressive albums I've heard. Setting the depressing scene of the album with absolute intensity on "Blessed Burden" the album only continues to impress and surprise with tracks like "Prophet In Plain Clothes" which features an acoustic segment that works surprisingly well and not to mention the most emotionally wrenching closer "Cowardice" which leaves you feeling empty and numb. |

One of the most influential albums in getting me into music, The Used were at the top of their game on this album. The catchiest choruses, Bert doing some of his best screams, and tight musicianship that I don't think they'll ever touch again, which is unfortunate but nonetheless this is still one of my favorite albums. |

I don't think I've ever heard a female lead vocalist who can scream as insane as Caro does while simultaneously having some of the best clean vocals in the black metal world. The a capella opening "10:56" begins the album in a touching and spine chilling way then punches you in the throat with"Second Son of R." which features technical soaring riffs leading into an explosive ending that you could never prepare yourself for. |

The first time I heard this I was absolutely blown away. This is a lyrical and conceptual masterpiece with some of my favorite vocals. Though for some vocals may be a turnoff in listening to this, I believe Cedric was at his most potent ability here. |

Spastic, intense, and technical, The Number Twelve Looks Like you blended multiple genres in a way that is highly amusing and yet cohesive as a whole. If you don't at least find pleasure in "Jay Walking Backwards" then I'm not sure what's wrong with your ears. |

One of the most depressing albums I've heard but also one of the most enjoyable listens. Maybe it gets a bit over praised but I believe it is still 5 worthy and so far that hasn't changed for me. |

Define the Great Line
This album has to be my favorite mix of post hardcore and metalcore. Aaron Gillespie has always been one of my favorite clean vocalists and I've always admired Spencer's shear ability to transition between rough singing, fry screams and guttural screams. I think back on attempting to scream like Spencer when I was in a band in high school with some good buddies of mine and I have nothing but fond memories tied to this album. |

The first hip-hop album I ever heard and this thing still bangs hard. Eminem wrote his best work here (imo). This album has catchy choruses in tracks like "The Way I am", creative songwriting in tracks like "Stan", an insane posse cut "Under The Influence", and the terrifying and unhinged track that is "Kim". So much to love here. |

Probably 95% of people who see this list will call me ridiculous for putting this in above Jane Doe, but this album is just way more fun to come back to in my eyes. You honestly cannot tell me there is a more haunting closer then "Wretched World". |

This album will grow to be timeless as it already sounds like it came from a time before it was released. The clear magnum opus of The Menzingers and it will continue to remind me of home and will always hold a place in my heart, don't care how cheesy that sounds. |

This album saw Nirvana at their strongest in songwriting and instrumentation plus you can't deny Steve Albini's excellent production. An incredibly bittersweet album, it ended the legacy of one of my favorite musicians of all time Kurt Cobain, RIP. |

A classic in my eyes through and through. This album has emotional lyrics, catchy choruses, strong vocals, entertaining instrumentals, consistency, and excellent production to boot. There is not a throw away song to be seen here. |
