The way she brings her songs to climax is so neat too. Ah that double bass is so cool. I remember when NeroCorleone picked for me this album after he won my Umbrella Contest thing in 2018. This is only the 3rd best song on the album, so if you liked this, check the whole thing. 4.8/5

Hurricane Fighter Plane- Yup, definitely an Ars rec, good and weird. I like the production on it a lot but I also cant say anything too special about it so 3.9

I guess there are more violin and cello than that stuff and some playful electronics. Good verses and bad chorus is my final verdict. 2.9/5 "Bitter Cold" There's a good beat so far. Kind of flat vocals though, and it hardly goes anywhere. There's potential here though. 3.2/5 "When It Rains" Sad lyrics, but I find the music pretty unengaging. 2.6/5

Not a bad start, which is a good thing, as this puppy clocks in at over eleven minutes long. OK, a bit of mournful wailing. Kind of hypnotic. Still not quite 5 mins in. Expecting some kind of change, and I think here it is. Quiet pulsing now. Tentacles crawling over my brain! Arghh! Arghh! Jk. Very quiet now, though - just vocals and sparse synth w/some weird sound effects thrown in (just heard a helicopter for a beat). Quiet part is getting a little draggy, though. Almost at 9 minutes now. I need coffee. And I think so do they. Oh, there we go. A quick explosion of sound, and we've kicked it back up to the songs original beat. Strong finish. Almost lost me for a minute, but overall a very creditable effort. 3.8

I just wish it was longer and gave more impact to the decay of the track. The sitar was a pleasant addition that I wish got more airtime too. 3.5 Red Krayola - I didn't love the vocals being frank, but as late 60s proto-post-punk (can something be both proto- and post- ? Fuck knows) this was certainly interesting. 3.0 Piana - Wowee this is A LOT but I dig. Kinda like if Euaru-era Yanagi Nagi was a little more mature in construction. Maybe got a tiny bit messy at the end but I can forgive that. 4.0 Bread and Butter - Sir this got me groovin and shaking on a wet blustery day in England like I was strutting on an Okinawan beach. Ain't life changing, but fun doesn't have to be. 3.5 Coldplay - I was super interested at the start and a little bored at the end. Really liked the kinda off-kilter feeling of the start and Mr. Martin fit that well, but it became a little more business-as-usual as it went on. Far from the worst Coldplay though. 3.0 Coals - Hella peculiar. I got on pretty well with this, but wish it had another minute or so to play with. 3.5 Paramore - I wanted to give this a 3.5 or something but this has never been my favourite from Riot. It's a charming enough song though and Hayley sounds great as always. 3.0 Tina Turner - I wanted to give this a 3.0 or something but Tina and the relentless assault of cheesy synths made me grin too much to knock it. Also, probably the balls-out catchiest song on here so far, barring maybe that Bread & Butter song. 3.5 Neurosis - spent a long time playing around with atmospheres and textures and all that which was lovely, though I wish it made me 'feel' a little bit more than it did. Very well strung-together though. 3.5 XTC - It's XTC. Andy Partridge is an outstanding vocalist and those strings make me wanna swoon and do all kinda things. 4.0.

Like the production and the instrumentation, the vox are a bit off to me. And it's very claustrophobic. 2.4 Borderless - Same as the above, but then for Johnny. It HAD to be YOU. Those drums are sweet. It's nicely diverse too. Airy vocals are nice as well. I just have to trust you that it is about the weather though... 3.3 Summer Blue - I did not know this was yours occy, but it sure is lovely! Super soulful, nice and old school, warm, sunny, hmmmmm, another album I'm going to check! 4.2 Rainy Day - Love Coldplay! I haven't paid any attention to their b-sides though. I can see why this wouldn't fit on the actual album but it does sound great. It's different for them too! 3.8

The Eye Of Every Storm - ford you know I recently started digging Neurosis and this track is a big reason why. Love it. Such a nice way to build the tension and so much room and space between the instruments and the vocalist is nice and reminds me of Mark Lanegan and this certainly is a 4.4 at least. Leva Som Sno - I really don't like these kind of vocals. It sounds like this guy has a really hard life, and he can start crying any second, but then all the time. Some of the leads are nicely twinkly though... 1.4 1000 Umbrellas - I like the rainy sound, they mimic it nicely here. Oh misery!!! This guy still has a more enjoyable life than then Sno one, but it still is kind of... miserable... It is a bit too intense in the vox 2.6

Somewhere, Beavis & Butthead are shaking their heads and screaming, "Yeah!" Typical metal vocals. Several changes in speed. I don't know. They're all worked up, but I just can't get into it. 2.4

Their songs, this included, are more like mosh tunes that are aggro and over the top noisy to hype up an audience. You need to be in the pit or crowdsurfing at a large venue packed with TONS of people to really get the appeal. This would slay at the Aftershock Festival and if this were a measure of that I'd give it 5/5. But while sitting here at my computer in my bedroom? Meh, not my kind of heavy. [2.8]

I grew up with the uncensored version though, which has better lyrics. 4.5/5 Jesu - Hmm this was actually fairly bad, can't even smack a 2.8 on it. And did my speakers break or is this really badly produced? 2/5 Raining Blood - Another childhood classic. This album got me seriously into metal. Song brings many sweet memories of headbanging with my friends through the years. Especially the riff after 'your time slips away' must have generated more global headbanging than any other music part. 5/5 Under The Folding Branches - I like the strings and the whiskers. But that vocalist dude, man. I'm not happy to see my son growing up thinking this is a good singer. 3/5

Some good elements, some bad ones. It about evens out. 3/5 "Prayers for Rain" This makes me think of walking in a scary mine with only a flashlight to guide me. A slow buildup so far. The strings are cool, the atmosphere is cool, but it's missing something for me. It's almost too out there in outer space, I can't quite place it. Decent enough I guess. 3/5 "Summer Breeze" Oh damn, there's some extreme metal roaring. Now it's just doomy vocals with happy lyrics. Unexpected, but I guess it's fine. Ugh, this fine, but about it. I'm giving out the same score a lot today. 3/5 "Storm Comin' On" Weirdly mixed vocals. They're not trying to ASMR me right? The beeping and drums are cool. This is kinda weird in a good way, but I can't place why. Maybe it's all the other boring songs I just listened to, but this stood out. The production is bad though. 3.2/5 "Raining Blood" BRUTAL RIFF AND DRUMZ BRO. SUCH AN INDESPUTABE CLASSIC RIGHT? DO YOU EVEN TRASH BRO? I MEAN THRASH... but seriously I don't like the vocals, the guitar, the drums, or thrash in general. +.5 for not sounding as ugly and lame as Metallica??? Slayer should've tried industrial. 2/5 "Under the Folding Branches" This is fine, the cello brightens up what maybe would be dull otherwise. I like the guitar, the backmasking, and the production A LOT. Ringo said this was his favorite Beatles song. 5/5 "Rain Come Down" Good bass, horrible vocals, mixed percussion (I like the metallic clicking, but not the trap snares.) This is one of those radical neutral tracks where the elements are a mix of amazing and horrible aaaah. 2.5/5 "Weather Storm" Let's be real, this song defines what good instrumental downtempo should be. Good bass, good piano, a chill atmosphere. Sure, it kind of reminds me of the Knuckles level Death Chamber, but that's okay. I like how it sounds like rain in the background with that rattling. 4.7/5

Borderless - Piana - I don't even need to look at the list to tell you who rec'd this. But this is some really lovely noise pop. Loving the glitch. It has been a very long time since i heard this artist, so it may not be an appropriate comparison, but this reminds me of a more bombastic Tujiko Noriko. 3.5 4. Summer Blue - Bread and Butter - Mm that beat. Oh this is really pleasant. That choooorus, oh my god. This is so good. 3.9 5. Rainy Day - Coldplay - I just don't get coldplay I guess. I like the amazingly 80's synth lines 1:45 in a lot. I like rain though so. 3.0 9. They Eye of Every Storm - Neurosis - I mean, it is Neurosis so it is obviously amazing. The long somber build up is to die for, very mellow pay off in post metal terms, but I can't help but love it. 4.2 10. Leva Som Sno - Vi Som Alskade Varandra sa Mycket - what a mouthful. Those harsh vox are great, instrumentally this is some grand skramz. In the skramz world this is a totally digestible track, which is far from being a bad thing. Something about this feels country, maybe the tempo, maybe the backups, whatever it is, it works.
