| Last Albums to Check for 2019
Both 2019 and the 2010s are winding down, but there are a few albums left on my to check out before the year, and the decade, ends. | 1 | | Bayside Interrobang
Of the LPs I have left, this is the one I have the highest hopes for. Score: 4.0 | 2 | | Waterparks Fandom
I liked "Double Dare" and the "Cluster" EP a lot, but was disappointed in "Entertainment". Score: 3.0 | 3 | | The Menzingers Hello Exile
I've never actually listened to this band, so I figured this would be a good time to give them a try. Score: 3.5 | 4 | | Dream State Primrose Path
The review of this one interested me, and the quick sampling I did on Amazon convinced me to give them a listen. Score: 2.5 | 5 | | Foals Everything Not Saved Will Be Lost - Part 2
Part 1 was the first Foals album I ever listened to. I thought it was uneven, but "Sunday" will probably make my Top 20 Songs list year, and there were some other good ones as well, so that's enough reason for me to check out Part 2. Score: 2.5 | 6 | | Coldplay Everyday Life
I know most of Sputnik hates these guys, but I don't. Score: 2.5 | 7 | | The Who Who
Not expecting greatness here. But this is the best band of all time, and I'm hoping they have enough left in the tank to at least make it interesting. Score: 3.0 | 8 | | Lapalux Amnioverse
I added this one after the original posting because Potts' review interested me. Could be a sleeper. Score: 3.0 | 9 | | Great Grandpa Four of Arrows
Another late addition based on an interesting review. Score: 3.5 | 10 | | Mellow Gang Adjourn
Yet another late edition. I like what I've heard so far. Score: 3.0 | 11 | | Caoimhin O Raghallaigh and Thomas Bartlett Caoimhin O Raghallaigh and Thomas Bartlett
Two members of The Gloaming who've branched off on their own. This will hopefully be my last addition for 2019. Score: 3.0 | 12 | | Halliday White Moon
Long Island band that seems to have branched off into Jpop. Score: 3.5 | 13 | | Alliance (USA-CA) Fire and Grace
OK, this is the last, last, last add for the year. It's one of the many projects of guitarist Robert Berry, of Emerson, Berry and Palmer fame. Score: 3.0 | 14 | | Gary Innes Imminent
Damn it! I lied. Innes is one of the members of the Celtic band Runrig. Score: 3.5 | 15 | | Deep Cut Different Planet
I hate myself so much right now. Score: 3.5 | 16 | | Meg and Dia Happysad
It's horrible to be so obsessive compulsive. Score: 3.5 | 17 | | Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds This is the Place
OK, I can do one more EP. Score: 3.0 | 18 | | Kitten Goodbye Honeymoon Phase
OK, I can handle two more EPs. Score: 3.0 | 19 | | Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds Wait And Return
OK, I can handle three more EPs. Score: 3.0 | |

11.07.19 | All in all, not many left for the year (unless somebody comes out with a surprise release I didn't know about), which is just as well. Leaves me time to figure out Songs of the Decade and Albums of the Decade lists. | Faraudo
11.07.19 | 5 is pretty good, give it a go. | Gnocchi
11.07.19 | You might be a fan of The Flower Kings newest | unclereich

11.07.19 | 3 is OK. I wouldn’t bother with the rest | Icebloom
11.07.19 | Yeah 5 is nice, a bit better than Part 1 I think. Curious for the new Coldplay album as well, Arabesque is a very promising single. | DoofDoof
11.07.19 | Waterparks AND Coldplay
What are they paying you? | luci
11.07.19 | looks like an albums to avoid list | butt.

11.07.19 | How on earth did you tolerate ‘double dare?’
Christ. | Divaman
11.07.19 | Oh Zak! You crusty old guys just don't get what we kids are listening to. | BeyondCosby
11.07.19 | Dream State was fine but there really wasn't anything on it to draw me back. | Divaman
11.10.19 | I added a couple of late entries, based on interesting reviews by Pots and Mathias. | Lord(e)Po)))ts
11.10.19 | Really unsure about Lapland being in ur wheelhouse but I’m interested to see how that goes for you | Lord(e)Po)))ts
11.10.19 | Lol autocorrect.... lapalux | Divaman
11.10.19 | Me too, but it sounds interesting enough to make it worth giving it a whirl. Probably be a few weeks until I get to it, though. I'm still pretty old school, so I'm ordering the CD on Amazon. | Lord(e)Po)))ts
11.10.19 | Haha well thanks for supporting the man | Divaman
11.21.19 | OK, hopefully this will conclude my listening for 2019. | Divaman
11.26.19 | Definitely my last update. Already looking at 2020, where Kesha, Torres and COIN have stuff coming out early. | Divaman
11.26.19 | Bayside will make the upper half of my Top 10 albums of the year, as they usually do.
I wasn't impressed with Waterparks at first, but it grew on me some. It's still not as good as Double Dare or the EP, though.
I liked the Menzingers more than I expected to. They're like a punkier Gin Blossoms.
Working on Mellow Gang right now, which is right in my sweet spot. I'll follow that with the Halliday EP.
Got CDs for Foals, Dream State, Lapalux and Great Grandpa, and they're in my next rotation in my car.
When I get paid this weekend, I'll order the Coldplay, The Who, the two guys from The Gloaming, and The Alliance, and that will do it for 2019. | budgie
11.26.19 | 10 is d best | Divaman
11.26.19 | Yeah, I saw your conversation on it on some list or other, and it's what made me decide to check out the album. | Divaman
01.13.20 | There. Got 'em all. OK, bring on 2020. | Dewinged
01.13.20 | Mellow Gang is great. If you want similar stuff from last year you could check The Day - Midnight Parade and Tallies' self titled!
Edit: Sorry to add just when you said you were done Diva lol | Divaman
01.13.20 | Doesn't mean that I'll never check an album from 2019 again, just that I've sort of officially closed off 2019 and my main focus will be on 2020 now. |
