| Erasure, and Reed and Caroline
Caught the middle night of a sold out 3-night run by Erasure at the Beacon Theatre in NYC. | 1 | | Reed and Caroline Hello Science
Unfortunately, thanks to a typical traffic jam on the LIE, I missed this electro-pop duo's whole set. They just released a new album last week. Was bummed I didn't catch them. They're protegees of Vince Clarke of Erasure. | 2 | | Erasure World Be Gone
Thankfully, got there in between sets so I didn't miss any of Erasure's set. They mostly played their hits, but played some of the tracks from their 2017 LP also. Was seated in the Beacon Theatre's balcony, which moved quite a bit as people danced. One of these days it will collapse. Don't be there when it does. | |

07.16.18 | Unfortunately, didn't play "Still It's Not Over", which is my favorite song from the new album. But at least I didn't miss "Oh L'Amour".
After the show, we spent the rest of the night driving upstate in a thunder and lightning storm to Herkimer, NY, to pick up my son. Good times. | TwigTW
07.16.18 | It sounds like they didn't do anything from the orchestral album? | Divaman
07.16.18 | Not really. The songs themselves from "World Beyond" are the same as those from "World Be Gone" just performed with an orchestra. And they played just the two of them, plus two backup singers.
I had to laugh watching Vince Clarke, though. He's the most laid back performer I've ever seen, even more so than Stephin Merritt. He has most of the show programmed in, so he barely has to move a muscle when he plays. I want his job! I think he's probably already got next year's tour programmed in there as well.
The songs they did from "World Be Gone"/"World Beyond" included the title track, plus "Love You to the Sky", "Take Me Out of Myself", "Sweet Summer Loving" and "Just a Little Love". | TwigTW
07.17.18 | yeah, Depeche Mode is like that too. The keyboard player has little to do... By the way, apparently it's better if a balcony shakes when everyone's dancing. a rigid unshakable structure is more likely to break--or so I've been told. | Divaman
07.17.18 | Hmm. Well by grasp of architecture and construction is just as could as my dancing, so I'll take your word for it. |
