Hip Hop Digs 9/19
1Priesthood
Sprinkle Me Luv

Amazing christian g-funk for you to cruise to. It's like a lost Warren G album how smooth it is. Could almost come off preachy if it wasn't so slick
2Jazz Spastiks and People Without Shoes
Green Street

Jazzy boom bap from a should-be legend in 2019. Recently copped the cd for this in the wild somehow when there were only like 300 copies made.
3Boogiemonsters
God Sound

More christian influenced hip hop but on the complete other end of the spectrum. This is through and through late 90s east coast underground with a tether of spirituality and it's very dope.
4Elote El Barbaro
Camaleones

This marriage between east and west coast styles of hip hop from 2002 is completely in Spanish and incredibly good. The beats have so much variety and travel from every corner of the country in style. While I can't speak to any of the subject matter, Elote is a gripping emcee in spite of the language barrier with (presumably) a strong grasp of his native language.
5Various Artists (Hip Hop)
Tales from the Hood

With the first solo AND self produced Inspectah Deck song (labeled as a Wu Tang track), the eponymous debut track from Scarface proteges Facemob, a terrific exclusive cut from Spice 1, a few great tracks from no name artists on the west coast, and more solid tracks from those like MC Eiht and Gravediggaz, this soundtrack is well deserved of its legacy as one of the strongest hip hop soundtracks of the 90s. At only 12 tracks it's a fairly quick listen for its era, and leaves you wanting to replay it again and again. Also perfect for the coming spooky season.
