Joeman82
07.27.20 | @radiosuicide Yeah some of these are a stretch and a half ngl but it says “post-hardcore” as one of the genres. :p Lower D is so good it’s criminal they never got a second LP. Weatherman and the end of To Satellite get stuck in my head sometimes and I usually jam the whole album then
@Slex Also pretty sure Devo came out in 2011. About to go on a Thursday marathon after I’m done with my current marathon. |
Slex

07.27.20 | 35 is GOAT. Lower D is writing new stuff too according to their IG story |
costofnothing
07.27.20 | I think War All The Time is probably the better thursday album. Also, why no As Cities Burn? Their debut was phenomenal. But some great picks, Gospel, Underoath, MILW, AOF, DGD, and Fear Before are based |
Joeman82
07.27.20 | No As Cities Burn because that comment is the first time I’ve heard of them ngl. I’ll get back to you in a week on that lol. |
Intothepit
07.27.20 | You weren't clear on it just being the aughts and not the entire 2000s |

Observer
07.27.20 | Bear vs shark is so good. Ive never heard of 10
Youd prob dig Boysetsfire Misery Index (and other albums). Also reuben's work. |
Joeman82
07.27.20 | 10 is worth your time bro. It was a side project of Rise Against when Tim’s voice was just raw as fuck making phc/boarderline metalcore tracks. Way, waaaaay better than it has any right to be. |
Joeman82
07.27.20 | BvS is one of my favorite bands ever and I saw was is probably their last show in 2018. One of the best nights of my life ngl. |
Intothepit
07.27.20 | Lol so you deleted my comment with the bands?? Wow |
Dissonant
07.27.20 | ahah get fuxked |
Masochist
07.27.20 | Great list! So many classics on here! I really miss this genre being so prominent. I still regularly bump a lot of these bands...in fact, I was listening to Anberlin just today. And as for recs...
"Youd prob dig Boysetsfire Misery Index (and other albums)."
^^^This. BSF's album 'Tomorrow Come Today' was one of the first albums I ever bought with my own money, and that one is more closer to the Post-Hardcore sound (whatever that is), but 'The Misery Index' is probably better.
Other bands you might enjoy that aren't on the list (with the criteria that they have "Post Hardcore" as a genre tag here on Sput):
Thrice - Any of their first four albums. Their earlier stuff is more Post-Hardcore, but I'd suggest either 'The Illusion of Safety' or 'The Artist in the Ambulance' for the best mix.
Beloved - 'Failure On'. The classic that no one knows.
He Is Legend - 'I Am Hollywood'...for something completely different and wonderful. Honestly one of the albums I've listened to the most in my life. |
Emim
07.27.20 | I'd maybe throw some Showbread onto that list too, Masochist. |
Joeman82
07.27.20 | Intothepit, I literally told you I accidentally deleted it with my fat ducking fingers I’m on mobile bro. My bad
I’ll give these all a check. I swore I heard a He Is Legend Album once and Thrice has been on my radar for a while. I swore I heard Illusion of Safety and really liked it. Maybe, don’t have the best memory. |
TheSupernatural
07.28.20 | Illusion of Safety is good but it has a few duds and production is definitely rough around the edges. Artist is dramatically better and there's not a bad track on it.
However, Vheissu is generally regarded as Thrice's magnum opus and if you like post-hardcore, it's required listening. |
Joeman82
07.28.20 | They were doing a full album playthrough of that this year iirc so I know that album I just never checked it out. Thanks for giving me the nudge to check it out |
Emim
07.28.20 | Artist in the Ambulance and Vheissu are quintessential Thrice. |
