04.16.19 | 'The UI used to be literally perfect. Now it’s awful.'
the ui used to be incomprehensibly ugly, the new player screen is a step in the right direction but still extremely lacking in modern aesthetics, the fact they still have to add in their horribly green motifs and can't go to a more pleasing light theme (or at least have that as an option), with a more minimal aesthetic or maybe even a player screen that has adaptive colours to album art (which apps have been doing for years) is staggering. |

04.16.19 | Spotify UI is fine imo. nice dark theme and quite minimalistic (at least for desktop and android, webplayer is ok and IO I don't know, don't care). |

04.16.19 | one thing i really hate is you can't see the amount of streams tracks have on android. if i wanna check out an album by testing the most popular track i have to go to the desktop |

04.16.19 | I use iTunes since I've been building my library of music I own physically/digitally for 10+ years, and that all gets transferred to my iPod when I'm out and about. I use Spotify for albums I don't currently own. |

04.18.22 | musicbee
its ability reorganize / rename files in massive bulk is super robust. I soulseek most of my digital library and have a great system where it dumps downloads into a 'complete' folder, musicbee scans the folder and auto adds it to the library, auto-tags the album, and then it will rename the actual files with the proper track names, put those in a folder with the album name, and put that in a folder with the artist name. its so clean and homogenizes your music files to be all the same format |

I used to use Google Play Music as my go-to music player and even bought some music via their store. But they discontinued the service a couple years ago in favour of YouTube Music and I was heartbroken. :-(
I mean, they're not even the same service! Google Play Music wasn't a streaming service. Why would they replace its function with something else? So sad. |
AlexKzillion
04.18.22 | I use spotify exclusively... though i am getting a bit irritated with EVERY SINGLE update for the past like three years making the platform worse one way or another
latest update has made it nearly impossible to navigate an artists page if they have a large discog on desktop |
