05.16.26 | yeah suspiria&phenomena are my favs, 90s stuffs a little low but def not as good as the 70s/80s. i'm def knocking mother of tears out the top 10 thoo, his masters of horror eps were fun tho. the only one of these i've yet to pick up is dracula 3d lol, other than that i've got a complete collection. i've still not watched the five days/giallo/dark glasses, should probably get around to that

If your intent is to collect every Dario Argento work regardless of quality, then sure. If not, stay very far away from that complete, colossal piece of trash.

Dark Glasses is definitely a return to form. A lot of fun. Five Days is a very interesting work but not bad at all. Giallo is...well everybody knows how awful Giallo is at this point.

05.16.26 | nice nice, i'm pretty deep into 60s-80s italian genre stuff and bava's geniunely like the spark of giallo[but black sunday ftw]. and yeah my argento collection is mostly like the cheapest vers i could find of each title so goes from dvds to 4k to region locked stuff and so on, so i do plan on getting dracula 3d but every time i looked it up people wanted like 25 bucks for it lol. i've got a couple argento vhs but they're cut to bits for pacing, the us cut of phenomenas actually an interesting oddity. the us cut of deep red blows
but yeah i remember giallo having release problems because adrien brody like regretted being in it sued it into not releasing, eventually found like a 5 dollar dvd of it for completionist sake |

Maybe I'm wrong there but I feel like not long ago many people had not even got around to watching it or the giallo heads would rank it a distant >5th
Dark Glasses probably is middle of the pack yeah but I didn't expect something that good from him this late, delightful surprise.
y'know to me his daughter Asia's film 'The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things' was more upsetting than most Dario horror

05.16.26 | I had a vhs of Phenomena titled Creepers and that’s how I saw it first and really didn’t like it at all but it was cut to shit to the point where it was pretty much a completely different movie. Also agree on Fulci reigning supreme. I love Soavi, Bava and Deodato too |
