05.14.26 | I know he didn't direct it up Aftershock was a nasty little film. |

05.14.26 | Sometimes I completely forget Eli acts as well |
ScuroFantasma
05.14.26 | He was cool in Inglorious Basterds but I hated Hostel and Borderlands |
Trebor.
05.14.26 | Dude's movies are as bad as his politics

05.14.26 | @Scuro I struggle to no anyone who enjoys Borderlands. Also, yeah Hostel has some flaws, but I don't think it was too bad. Part II was far superior, and Part III was even better. |

05.14.26 | Hostel is top. |

05.14.26 | Not a fan of Hostel 2, but not terrible. The Green Inferno is actually pretty good. |

05.14.26 | Hot Take:
I prefer Green Inferno over Cannibal Holocaust.
There I said it |

05.17.26 | Cannibal Holocaust has not aged well so yeah, agreed tbh. |

05.17.26 | Green Inferno I felt had actual themes and a story to it whereas Cannibal Holocaust just felt like walking from set piece to set piece. |

05.17.26 | ima be real with ya, green inferno is one of the worst movies ive ever seen.
i feel like thanksgiving is the only one that even approaches being a real movie, cabin fever and hostel are sort of interesting curios, and the rest are basically unwatchable. |

05.17.26 | I love Eli Roth, super underrated. |

05.17.26 | Overall I’m not a huge fan. I like Hostel, green inferno and thanksgiving are alright…and the rest range from bad (knock knock, borderlands) to somewhat watchable (cabin fever). |

05.18.26 | still haven't seen thanksgiving, had green inferno on my shelf for years buuut when i'm in the mood for a cannibal movie i generally just go straight to the source.
my take on eli roth is: he's actually a decent director if we're talking technical ability, his scripts are very undeveloped though. like death wish is a pretty polished movie that just doesn't hit the same way as like a death wish 3/4, idk it just doesn't figure out the tone that everyone loves about those [admittedly trashy] bronsan movies. cabin fever i think is his best, generally just kind of a weird but memorable 2000s indie flick. i kinda wish he'd lean more into the weird stuff cause most of his movies by design are super simple, and that becomes a bit of a detriment. hostel 2 i haven't seen since the workprint leaked like months before the movie came out, had a buncha incomplete effects that made it kinda funny. once again: it was gory/exploitative but not fun in the same way as his inspirations, meaning to give it a rewatch i might enjoy it a bit more nowadays. |

05.18.26 | Death Wish 2 is still the best Death Wish imho |
