10.19.22 | Halloween 3 isn't a Halloween film u can't compare it with the others. |
DominionMM1
10.19.22 | is tcomm the one with paul rudd? |
goblinilbog
10.19.22 | I still need to watch like 6-7 of the Halloween movies but I think you have Kills underrated. Still a pretty solid ranking from what I've seen. |
wham49
10.19.22 | very respectable, the only thing I would change for me that is is to move H2O to the 3 spot, mainily becasue it was my wife and I's first real dinner and movie date,
yes we have been together that long
yes, I know I am old |
charbyno
10.19.22 | I agree you can’t compare Halloween 3 to the rest of the series but it’s not a bad movie on its own |
wham49
10.19.22 | no, it was actually the intention of Hill and Carpenter, to doa whole series of "Halloween" movies with different stories, they were supposed to do III, second but for the demand of a sequal for the first, they were going to do more with different stories and try to connect them, but didn't I think mainly becase of the success of Halloween |
CaliggyJack
10.19.22 | It would have worked if Season of the Witch had been the second movie instead of the third. |
sonictheplumber
10.19.22 | no season of the bitch? :D |
YoYoMancuso
10.19.22 | 1 is the only good one but the scene in 6 where the dude runs into a cow is the funniest thing I’ve ever seen |
wham49
10.19.22 | 6?
is that curse of MM |
CaliggyJack
10.19.22 | Yes but I'm talking about 6 the producers cut. |
YoYoMancuso
10.19.22 | Sorry, 6 as in #6 on the list |
TheSpirit
10.19.22 | i like the first rob zombie halloween |
Wildcardbitchesss
10.19.22 | Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2 is awesome and arguably one of the best in the series imo |
Wildcardbitchesss
10.19.22 | 1. Halloween ‘78
2. Ends
3. Halloween ‘18
4. Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2
5. Season of the Witch
6. H20 |
Coast
10.19.22 | For me it's Halloween I (78), II (80) and for what it's worth III (82) as I just prefer it to everything that came after. Rob Zombie films in general just feel like a dumb 15 year old made them, bottom 2. Whilst the cheesy generic characters and sickly sweet moralising interactions in Halloween Kills are annoying, it has the best kills, mask and I liked the homage to Halloween III. Corey was so irritating in Halloween Ends and the film didn't have the positives of Halloween Kills and kept the generic schmaltzy dialogue. The rest are ok to bad but ultimately disappointing come films end. |
mkmusic1995
10.20.22 | Hot take: None of them are actually that great. The first one is obviously a classic but nothing after that is overtly interesting. |
Trebor.
10.20.22 | I only like 1 and 3 and 2 is fine and all the rest suck |
Wildcardbitchesss
10.20.22 | See there’s at least a couple of dozen of us that like RZ’s Halloween 2 |
wham49
10.20.22 | "Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2 is awesome and arguably one of the best in the series."
it is def. the most brutal as in brutality, but not the best |
TalonsOfFire
10.20.22 | Slasher franchises/sequels are generally lame and unnecessary, but for some reason Halloween is the best one imo. Ends wasn’t that bad, but I do prefer the first four and 2018 to it. 1978>2018>III>II (1981)>IV>Ends>H20>Kills>the rest. The Michael being Laurie’s brother twist was dumb and I’m glad they did away with it in the new trilogy, made him scarier and his actions more random. |
MoM
10.20.22 | Michael being Laurie’s brother was so unnecessary and confusing. Was she supposed to be the sister he stabbed or one we didn’t see? Cause either she went to high school twice in that timeline, or Michael got the Benjamin Buttons disease |
wham49
10.20.22 | no she was little, and at a baby sitters I believe while the parents were at a party. I knda like the plot line TBH |
TalonsOfFire
10.20.22 | Maybe if it was developed better over the series and not coming across like it did which is that they pulled that idea out of thin air so they had something going on in 2. The problem is that it and the original were each meant to conclude the Laurie Strode/Michael Myers stories, given how they literally blew up Michael and Dr. Loomis in 2. But no one liked III at the time so they had to dredge everything back up in 4 and onwards by nonsensically bringing those two back. Dumb series, despite my enjoying 2-4 well enough. But 2018 is really the only great one besides the original. |
MoM
10.20.22 | @wham
Okay, that makes sense!
Season of the Witch got shat on so unfairly |
wham49
10.21.22 | also, it was put out during the slasher movie craze, so it was looked down at immedietly for that reason as well |
CaliggyJack
10.21.22 | I gave H3 a try and I just don't care for it personally. |
TalonsOfFire
10.22.22 | III is fun and entertaining as a stand-alone spooky 80s movie that’s ridiculous in the best way. |
MoM
10.22.22 | And that’s why I love it! As a Halloween flick it doesn’t fit whatsoever, even beyond not having Michael. But it gives me goofy The Stuff vibes and I love it |
Wildcardbitchesss
10.22.22 | Halloween 3 fucking rules and I was so hyped when the title card for ends had the same font |
rockarollacola
10.22.22 | Halloween Ends will become a cult film like Season of the Witch. Calling it. |
rockarollacola
10.22.22 | All versions of Curse fucking suck tho |
wham49
10.23.22 | Wildcard, also like the use of the masks in H2018 |
Wildcardbitchesss
10.23.22 | I think they did it in Kills too! Such great little callbacks to such an underrated film. |
twlight
10.23.22 | im probably gonna watch Halloween ENDS tonight, do i need to see H Kills?
havent seen it and dont care to, but H Ends is on peakcock which i get for free.
i did enjoy H 2018 quite a bit
|
CaliggyJack
10.23.22 | You will miss some stuff yea |
Wildcardbitchesss
10.23.22 | It’s on HBO Max but you can skip it.
The only notable things that happen is Michael just wasting like half the town of Haddonfield and a couple of the lead characters from 2018.
Ends is the most self contained movie in the series aside from the original. |
twlight
10.23.22 | well fuck..
think im just gonna skip KILLS and go straight into ENDS |
Wildcardbitchesss
10.23.22 | Kills is the only one I don’t care for out of the new canon.
‘78 is obviously still a classic. ‘18 wasn’t really all that original but it was executed well enough that I really ended up enjoying it.
Ends takes a big swing plot wise and if you aren’t on board with it then I can see why you’d hate it. Personally, everyone I know liked it. And honestly it’s probably my favorite Halloween besides the original. |
twlight
10.23.22 | wild card, imma go straight into H ENDS
what a pathetic "trilogy"
lets go |
twlight
10.23.22 | Ends |
unclereich
10.23.22 | surprised more people aren't dick riding RLM itt and predenting ends was anything more than trash. |
twlight
10.23.22 | RLM is basicalll the best thing evr.
but yeah i'll chill out |
twlight
10.23.22 | RLM is passion and the best, i listen to their reviews before i watch movies |
Wildcardbitchesss
10.23.22 | I haven’t watched it, their videos are too long but I remember them hating Kills. They didn’t trash Ends? |
TalonsOfFire
10.23.22 | RLM is the best [2] They liked Ends quite a bit, weren't a fan of Kills, and liked 2018 well enough. I didn't like Ends as much as they did but generally agree with what they said about it which is that the movie at least tries to be different from the others unlike Kills, and is very watchable. |
Wildcardbitchesss
10.23.22 | huh maybe I’ll watch it. Their reviews are usually pretty spoilerish tho aren’t they? Usually better to watch after I’ve seen it. |
TalonsOfFire
10.24.22 | Yeah I tend to watch their reviews after seeing the movie |
Wildcardbitchesss
10.24.22 | I totally whole heartedly agree with most of what they said
Spoilers for Halloween Ends.
I dont like their idea of Corey living. I'd much rather let this canon close on a high note, than carrying shit over into whatever reboot they do next. |
wham49
10.24.22 | well that was the point of the movie though wasnt it, to have a jumping off point for the next Halloween story. However it was billed as the final fight between Michael and Laurie. I have the biggest issue with how Michael was portrayed in Ends, I know they were getting rid of him, but sad visual to end it on. An old man who lets some dorky kid push him around. and there was not much of a fight between Michael and laurie. thought it was going to take up most of the movie, it was probably 5 minutes and weak at that. stand alone moview it was interesting, as a closing of a series very weak |
Wildcardbitchesss
10.24.22 | That fight between Michael and Corey was whack but you gotta remember, dude was fucked up at the end of Kills. It makes sense that they nerfed the hell out of him for this movie. |
TalonsOfFire
10.24.22 | The main problem with Ends was not fully committing to the Corey thing in the third act by just having him off himself and then the expected fight between Michael and Laurie, which was better in 2018 I thought and kind of pointless to do again. I like that they threw him into a car compactor at the end tho. Having Michael be weak at the beginning and the town corrupted were neat ideas since he's so unstoppable in most of 2018 and all of Kills. |
wham49
10.24.22 | i gues that is were I get lost TOF
just keepin in mind that the only other movie that this trilogy wants to acknowedge is H I 1978, havimg him get shot multiple times, burned, stabbed, ran over, hand blown off, beat up by citisins ( which is the funniest), now he dies that easy becasue he is too old. sounds like they didnt know how to end it, but needed to to push this cory thing forward. IDK could have given him a better ending, he is onloy one of the most know movie "monsters" of all time show some respect, let him go out as who he was, invincible, let him get pushed into the compactor or something.
or what my wife and I thougtht, let him kill everybody and ride into the sunset, cause you cant kill the boogie man |
Wildcardbitchesss
10.24.22 | yeah having Michael just win would’ve been a fuckin head trip. Everyone and their mother expected him to bite it in this movie, we just didn’t know if Laurie would die too. |
