User's Top 50 Albums of 2020 Predictions
Just like I did with the staff's list predictions, I'm gonna try to mindread and see what everyone's digging for the year. |

10 | | Jessie Ware What's Your Pleasure?
I’m surprised a top 10 mention for this is even possible over stuff like Protest the Hero or Paysage d’Hiver, but I think a lot of top-heavy support will push this through. |
9 | | Phoebe Bridgers Punisher
Sputnik’s up-and-coming star has hit the big stage with Grammy nominations and endless publication support, and the users seem to be well on board. |
8 | | Hum Inlet
Inlet exploded in popularity in quite the fascinating fashion. I’m not the biggest fan of this, but it’s not bad for a comeback record. |
7 | | Jeff Rosenstock NO DREAM
Jeff Rosenstock continues to be one of the most prolific modern punk artists as he’s released yet another fan favorite. Imo, this is one of his weaker ones, so better luck next time, Jeffrey. |
6 | | Nothing The Great Dismal
Ah, the accurate band name: Nothing. You will all pay for this. |
5 | | Fiona Apple Fetch The Bolt Cutters
Like Jessie Ware, I was apparently wrong in thinking that only the staff had much love for this. It’s all deserved, though, and I’m really hoping Fiona at least makes the top 5. |
4 | | Run the Jewels RTJ4
Good, good… |
3 | | Ulcerate Stare Into Death and Be Still
Despite the unfathomably high initial average for this thing, my seemingly eternal 3/5 curse on Ulcerate has still yet to be broken. For all the Sputnik metalheads, I’m unfortunately not seeing a repeat of last year’s #1 metal inclusion. |
2 | | clipping. Visions of Bodies Being Burned
Wow, I’m impressed! I feel like these guys have popped in and out of popularity for most of their young career and the recent embrace the online community has had for these guys has been great to see. |
1 | | Deftones Ohms
Although it’s kinda sad, this is the most likely outcome. I’ll give Deftones credit; much like Ulcerate, they rode an insane hype wave on Sputnik for quite a while that was at least pretty exciting. |
