07.29.16 | Stuff like Breaking Bad and The Wire are easier to make good because they already got the manly bad assness from the premise and getting to say what they want because they are on cable, plus having an ex-cop as a writer for The Wire doesn't hurt. But take a show like Buffy with a silly premise on the surface and stuck on a late 90s basic network channel, and the writers really had a challenge. Makes it more impressive what they were able to do with a show about a girl killing demons while going to school. Plus it's got the best characters ever. |
