10/10 Albums
a rarity for me, a 10/10 doesn't mean perfection to me (i have yet to hear an album that is to me perfect in every way), but an album that hits me in a really unique way (usually emotionally) and is almost flawless. Will update more albums/add descriptions soon.

amazing album, Book of the Fallen is one of my all time favorite songs, and wild autumn wind is pretty up there as well. My love for this is also aided by the fact that it is based off my favorite book series, Malazan Book of the Fallen. If you like fantasy books, definitely check the books out! Echoes of battle is incredible, beautiful and atmospheric black metal aided by orchestral elements, synths, and many other cool elements. vocals can take some getting used to, as a warning |

during the summer? a 9 to a 9.75, somewhere around there. During winter, walking through the snow? an instant 10. One of the better black metal albums released, the 2 opening and 2 closing tracks are just beyond anything i would ever expect in terms of quality (life is a clay urn on the mantleeeee). I am the wooden doors is also a classic track. Perfectly captures winter and nature. |

A live dvd, just about every song here is equal or better than the original material (really the only stuff that isn't better is *most* of the shadows of the sun and perdition city songs) The visuals combined with the music hits me really hard. Not Saved (Live) is probably my all time favorite ambient piece. |

An album unlike anything i have ever really heard before. This isn't just symphonic black metal. This is black metal mixed with symphonic, it really does feel like the music is taken right out of some classic 15th century masterpiece orchestral work. The lyrics are incredible, and the production is very well done. There are periods of up to 6 or so minutes where its just pure orchestra, and it is incredible. Loss, the fawn, nihil and latent thistle are my favs off it. |
