Space / Cosmic Black Metal: The Best

in no specific order, i will mention when they are absolute favorites though
1Darkspace
Dark Space III I
2Bezmir
Void

pretty great riffs on this one. probably the weakest out of all of these, but arrival and cold bones of the universe are amazing.
3Progenie Terrestre Pura
U.M.A.

one of the first black metal albums i had every actually enjoyed
4The Lost Sun
Spectral Voice from Newborn Star

reminds me of Alrakis a bit, but with a lot more polish and ambient. Ode to Dead Sun is a spectacular track.
5Midnight Odyssey
Shards of Silver Fade

while overlong, wasteland, hunter and shards rank among my favorite bm songs of all time
6Midnight Odyssey
Funerals from the Astral Sphere

this is my favorite space bm album. Pretty much perfect in every way
7Mare Cognitum
Luminiferous Aether

fantastic riffs, great amosphere, overall a very fun album
8Mesarthim
The Great Filter

one of my favorite black metal songs, epic in all the right ways
9Mesarthim
Isolate

great keyboard melodies, a light and easy album to get through
10Alrakis
Echoes From Eta Carinae

a daunting 52 minute long song, echoes takes a close look at a violent binary star system and represents its echoes and eventual demise beautifully
11Alrakis
Alpha Eri

Another great piece of space bm from Alrakis, M20 and NGC 3242 are masterworks.
12Almagest
Almagest

clocking in at only 14 minutes long, this EP blows me away. En Void is a masterpiece.
13Mare Cognitum/Spectral Lore
Sol

a killer split, not easy to get through but quite rewarding
14Trist (GER)
Hin-Fort

Hin sends me to another dimension. I have yet to listen to a piece of cosmic BM that has had near that kind of an effect on me. The Fort side of the album isn't as good but Hin really makes the album. Its a long and tough listen, but if you come with the right mindset it will grab you.
15Mesarthim
.- -... ... . -. -.-. .

An album i forgot to add until later (whoops), not as good as the the great filter but better than isolate (or maybe tied idk). has a really fantastic production and atmosphere.
16Esotis
Eternal Silence of These Infinite Spaces

Synth-heavy space themed ambient black metal (what a mouthful) which will either come across as boring and repetitive or fitting and enchanting, i lean towards the latter.
17Khonsu
The Xun Protectorate

Unlike the rest of these, this album is mostly space in concept alone. This is pretty polished progressive black metal, lots of fantastic moments here.
