05.22.18 | Hinfort (as one word in german) does mean something like "Begone!" so I guess your description of being sent to another dimension makes sense |
TheSpirit
05.22.18 | least favorite kind of black metal but still, cool list |
SymbolicInTime
05.22.18 | I love whenever these sort of soundscapes get incorporated into a genre |
KingDweedle
05.22.18 | I adore that Mare Cognitum split. Love it when a band can make extremely long tracks enthralling instead of tedious. |
Papa Universe
05.22.18 | Space.
Magnificent.
Mesarthim is great.
Someone should do a marine, moby dick-ish, claustrophobic metal with Inter Arma and Graves at Sea on it. |
AsleepInTheBack
05.22.18 | Never ceases to amaze me just how many sub genres of sub genres of sub genres there are. Sounds cool. |
Gmork89
05.22.18 | Listening to 8, damn it's good. |
CygnusX1
05.22.18 | 3 and 7 are dope. I always need more cosmic otherworldly black metal in my life |
Asdfp277
05.22.18 | which one is the most space-y in terms of instrumentation? |
Zoomoo318
05.23.18 | @asdfp277 depends on what you mean space-y, alrakis and the lost sun have a lot of atmosphere/ambient movements and TLS also incorporates a lot of space-y scifi sounds, and midnight odyssey use waves of sound/static-y guitar/reverb to give a grand and desolate feeling that suits space perfectly. Progenie also incorporates scifi sounds |
Hawks
05.23.18 | I gotta check a few of these, sweet list. Props for including Mesarthim. m/ |
Zoomoo318
05.23.18 | also as shameless self promo, you can find songs from just about all of these albums and more on two space bm compilations i made (im a big fan of the subgenre lol)

05.23.18 | "I thought you hated 9!"
I do but I love all his other stuff. |
Zoomoo318
05.23.18 | i see why people don't love isolate, i really enjoy it though |
Hawks
05.23.18 | I think it's super cheesy/amateurish compared to everything that came after it. |
Zoomoo318
05.23.18 | oh yeah for sure, i just really enjoyed some of the keyboard melodies :)
also i didn't realize until now that sputnik doesn't make spots for albums that aren't on the site so Esotis' Eternal Silence Of These Infinite Spaces is also supposed to be on this list. Super ambient bm but i love it to death, synth lines are to die for.

05.23.18 | i'll add 'em |
Hawks
05.23.18 | Yeah I was gonna say add that shit. I'm gonna jam 14 when I'm done with new Necros Christos. |
Asdfp277
05.23.18 | done! |
Zoomoo318
05.23.18 | @Hawks just as a heads up its probably the single toughest of all of these. I would prob only do the first song, Hin (its 60 minutes long). The 2nd half is just horror themed dark ambient for the most part. not bad, but nowhere near Hin. Hin is long and incredibly repetitive, but if you focus on the background stuff and atmosphere it really does have an effect. laying down in a dark room recommended :D |
Zoomoo318
05.23.18 | @Asdfp277 thanks for doing what i was too lazy to do! |
Asdfp277
05.23.18 | no problem, site can be frisky when adding stuff so i'd rather do it myself |
Astral Abortis
05.23.18 | Woah wait the second Alrakis album came out? I gave up waiting for that one a long time ago |
Zoomoo318
05.23.18 | @Astral Abortis its a tougher listen but i'd just about say it's better than alpha eri. definitely worth the wait |
Dewinged
05.23.18 | Nice, nice. Bookmarked. |
