07.06.17 | Hey everyone, happy to be on this account again. |
Astral Abortis
07.06.17 | Technically Bath and Leaving Your Body Map are two parts of one double album, so I usually "rate" them both as one full piece (and I always listen to them together). That said, Bath is probably my favourite half, but I find it hard to pick favourites when it comes to maudlin of the Well and Kayo Dot. Almost every motW and KD album is a 5/5 in my opinion.
Part the Second is a brilliant record but it sheds all the death metal elements of the early stuff, don't know if that's good or bad for you. |

07.06.17 | I heard a track or two and I enjoyed them, I mean I certainly prefer the more abrasive elements to be there but maudlin seems really fantastic at creating more peaceful, toned down moments as well. |

07.06.17 | Lol yeah man i'm back, I tried doing an alt called ThisIsTheApocalypse for a short time for personal reasons until said reasons became pointless and yeah here I am. |
Dedes
07.06.17 | Yeah indeed it was |
Judio!
07.06.17 | Sleep on your birthday and cry |

07.06.17 | Part the Second was cool until I jammed it peaking on a few tabs and then it was pretty much the most brilliantly structured album ever. Shit had the walls bending in time |
Shadowmire
07.06.17 | part the second is my favorite |

07.06.17 | Listen to bath and body map on a few tabs if you think you can handle it.
I couldn't. |
Dedes
07.06.17 | Nah, i'd rather fully enjoy the albums without any tabs. They're crazy as they are. |
Artuma
07.06.17 | can confirm, 4 is great |
IronGiant
07.06.17 | an excerpt... from part the second is my favorite Motw song... absolutely brilliant chorus which sounds like a hundred monks chanting, a beautiful acoustic guitar solo, and a piano outro that sounds like All I Need by Radiohead |
Thalassic
07.06.17 | In terms of overal feel, I think MotW - as style-mixing as they are - is the "metal" band of the two, while Kayo Dot is the full on experimental rock band. Both did great stuff |
coma2rium
07.06.17 | KD is still kicking ass |
Dedes
07.07.17 | imo Maudlin is still genre bending enough that even calling them a metal band seems inaccurate, I mean on the turn of a dime they will transition genres or they'll have two genres clashing at once. They do however have some metal influence definitely. |
Thalassic
07.07.17 | You can't call Maudlin not a metal band tho
Of course they bend genres, but the metal part of their sound protrudes enough to call them a metal band |
LeOmegaOnslaught
07.07.17 | Jam heaven and weak or die of AIDS |
Dedes
07.08.17 | Eh, I mean I suppose they are a -metal- band, but only slightly more then they are a bunch of various other genres. |
Thalassic
07.08.17 | Agreed |
Snowdog808
07.10.17 | maudlin is certainly one of my favorite millenial bands. I love how much they can blend mellow chamber classical, cool jazz, alternative, and progressive metal so fluidly. |
