12.16.21 | Thankfully there wasn't as much bad music as last year, but some of these are REALLY rough to get through. |
JKing92
12.16.21 | I remember attempting to listen to 2 back in mid-July, making it about halfway through the first song, shaking my head, and immediately turning that crap off. Have not even tried to go back to it since. |
Drifter
12.16.21 | 6 isnt even the worst cover on this list |
JKing92
12.16.21 | Personally, I think that 2 and 3 are considerably worse album covers than 6. But of course, that's just me. |
JoyfulPlatypus
12.16.21 | @Drifter/JKing: Maybe it was a bit rash to declare 6 the worst cover lol but it’s still pretty awful.
@NormalOctagon: I’ll be much more joyful when I talk about good music! |
JohnnyoftheWell
12.16.21 | hahahaha you put lorde above ashnikko ouch love
list is missing krallice and lana del rey but otherwise yeet |
Drifter

am i the only one seeing 4 lmao |
JohnnyoftheWell
12.16.21 | 4 is unlookable but has too much edge to be the worst cover here
6 is terrible but forgettable but yeah potentially the worst |
JoyfulPlatypus
12.16.21 | I love that this has become a debate over the worst album cover here hahaha never change Sput |
JKing92
12.16.21 | "am i the only one seeing 4 lmao"
Oh my God, I just noticed how horrendous the cover of 4 truly is. Like, that is nightmare fuel. |
alamo
12.16.21 | 4 is actually a universal 5.0 classic. at least the first 3 tracks |
JoyfulPlatypus
12.16.21 | @alamo: I remember getting a little bit of guilty pleasure enjoyment out of the first couple songs now that I think about it. But my goodness I don't think I could make it through that album again, even if the beginning is okay. |
Sabrutin
12.17.21 | can't get over the psych vibe of 1's cover. Can you imagine psychedelic buttcore |
sonictheplumber
12.17.21 | as i get older it gets way harder to give shitty shit a good "open minded" listen. i remember back in like 2008 when i could force myself to listen to an atreyu record just to "expand my horizons" now im like nah my horizons are fine |
sonictheplumber
12.17.21 | i got a friend who genuinely loves like, dubstep-era korn, st anger, all sorts of shit i dont like. and he's always like "keep listening and itll click!" |
parksungjoon
12.17.21 | agreed sonic |
Sabrutin
12.17.21 | I'm much quicker to drop an album mid listen now yeah. Even acclaimed stuff if I realize it's not for me, like the new The World Is a Beautiful Place, "oh it's gonna be random spiraling modern prog riffs with some emo moments isn't" *drops* |
Sabrutin
12.17.21 | kornstep do be catchy tho |
virpi
12.17.21 | The Lorde album itself is kinda mediocre, but it's the best that she could come up with. And that makes it like 10 times worse. |
JKing92
12.17.21 | It's kind of amazing to think that the Korn dubstep album and Lulu both came out the same year. Perfect examples of how two talented artists can sometimes have all the chemistry of oil and water... |
ReturnToRock
12.17.21 | @sonic I feel you. I'd never drop something mid-listen because hey, it can always get better, but these days I find myself deleting an album after two, three listens, tops. In extreme cases, even just one. That's part of why I've been so sparse with reviews lately - there's been very little lately that grabs my attention enough to even give it my requisite pre-review 3-5 listens, let alone have thoughts about it. And the few things that do are usually so indie/underground that they would get very little traction or reaction beyond a 'huh? Who?'
@everyone who mentioned 4 as the worst cover - I was about to write that, you guys beat me to it. |
YoYoMancuso
12.17.21 | 3 definitely wins for biggest disappointment, Melodrama is incredible |
