Talking Heads Ranked

One of my favorite 80's bands ever. Hard to really say that any of these are bad.
9Talking Heads
Stop Making Sense

HONORABLE MENTION! Live albums don't count in the ranking, but credit needs to be given to Talking Heads to making one of the best live albums/DVDs ever.

8Talking Heads
True Stories

This album is just Talking Heads throwing everything all the wall to see what sticks. Sure there are still some gems to be found here, but it's just too hit or miss as a whole to recommend.
3/5

Best Song: Puzzlin' Evidence
Worst Song: Radio Head
7Talking Heads
Naked

It's a toss-up between this and True Stories for their weakest album, but Naked is saved purely because of its highlights. It's also nice to hear Talking Heads experimenting more with the sounds they had on Remain in Light, even if this album is clearly inferior.
3/5

Best Song: Cool Water
Worst Song: The Facts of Life
6Talking Heads
Little Creatures

The obvious beginning of their late-career decline, but it's still a very catchy pop-rock album. Its biggest flaw is probably just how safe it feels compared the albums that came before it.
3.5/5

Best Song: Walk It Down
Worst Song: Stay Up Late
5Talking Heads
More Songs About Buildings and Food

Probably the weakest of the three Eno-produced albums, but it still has some amazing highlights.
4/5

Best Song: Found A Job
Worst Song: Artists Only
4Talking Heads
Talking Heads: 77

Excellent debut, even if it's far more subdued compared to their later work.
4.5/5

Best Song: Pulled Up
Worst Song: First Week, Last Week...Carefree
3Talking Heads
Speaking in Tongues

This is subjectively one of the most fun albums ever made. Sure it's not quite as awe-inspiring as their work with Brian Eno, but this is still a highlight of the entire 80's for me.
5/5

Best Song: Girlfriend is Better
Worst Song: I Get Wild/Wild Gravity
2Talking Heads
Fear of Music

This and RIL are more or less neck and neck for me, but the experimental parts in Fear of Music almost feel like they were just warm-ups for what would come later down the line.
5/5

Best Song: Cities
Worst Song: Animals
1Talking Heads
Remain in Light

One of the most perfect albums ever made, and I'll die on that hill.
5/5

Best Song: The Great Curve
"Worst" Song: Houses in Motion
