Shemson 06.23.22	So firstly, I thought I’d check the story from SH1 seeing as I’m jumping straight into 2. Seems like the story is very similar to the movie which I’m familiar with so, let’s do this!

Shemson 06.23.22	Atmosphere is so great. Can smell the bathroom we start off in, love the fog even though graphically dated. Controls feel exactly the same as resident evil classic, dude even looks like a haggard Leon. Met a weird lady in a church who’s looking for her mama…

Shemson 06.23.22	Yeah fish the music is outstanding Just faced my first weird enemy thing. Looks pretty lame looking nowadays sadly but having seen the first movie I get it. Sounds ridiculous crawling round the floor though! What’s the problem with it trebor? I’m gonna keep going on this regardless but what will I miss? Thanks steak!
ConcubinaryCode 06.23.22	HD collection is fine for a first time play, it's not the best way to experience it but its fine, you'll have a good time regardless. You can change the controlling style to 2d if you want and dont like tank controls if you hold all 4 shoulder buttons in the option menu.
Shemson 06.23.22	Thanks mate good to hear I’m not missing out! Controls are fine, I did Code Veronica X play through last year so tank is no problem What am I calling these weird monster things? Just realised you can do a powered up smash with my stick with nail in it which is how you get them on the floor …games were so much more rewarding when they threw you in with no tutorial! So far I have a bit of wood and a key for an apartment I’ve not been to whilst every door in this town seems closed. Loving it!

Nothing in any bins so far 🤣 I did think to myself how much harder the game would be if I had no reference point! Found a nice little motorhome with another magical red square! I’m surprised how readily save points are showing up so far… sure that will change
ConcubinaryCode 06.23.22	Nice, a lot of people miss it and it makes the game kinda harder but if you're a vet you'll stumble across a ton of supplies so saving will be more for piece of mind. Don't want to spoil anything else but just enjoy your time in the game. It gets crazy.
Trebor. 06.23.22	Yeah but the HD Collection has so many problems it could ruin someone's experience Konami lost the source code for the games so it had to be remade from scratch and they hired some 3rd rate company with no experience time or budget to do it There's a myriad of technical issues including the fog being all fucked up, and a lot of the voice acting has been redone.

Trebor. 06.23.22	Sh2 has the og voice acting still yeah but I think it's something you have to manually toggle in the settings and the average newbie probably won't do that
ConcubinaryCode 06.23.22	It's the second thing that pops up when you click on sh2 before the game even loads and asks for old voices or new voices.
Shemson 06.23.22	It came up as an option at the beginning clear as day which voice acting you want …I picked the re-record because resident evil 1 OG was so bad I assumed that’s why this was re-recorded too Never mind, will do an original voice playthrough after as I feel like I’ll have a few plays of this, loving the vibe so far. Just used my first key and now I’m in a creepy apartment block with another helpful red square

ConcubinaryCode 06.23.22	You'll find it, just gotta explore. Those are mannequins, they got that sheen to them even when you turn the flashlight off. It's so cool.

BaselineOOO 06.24.22	Good luck on your first playthrough, Shemson! You should give Silent Hill 3 a try after you're done with this one. I found the puzzles a bit better but the atmosphere is of a different kind of spook!

Shemson 06.24.22	Met a fat man throwing up, he was gross. Angela having a bad time, took a knife off her. Did a clock puzzle and opened a safe with a combo found in a toilet.

Shemson 06.25.22	The way the legs were flailing around I did wonder if it was gonna be sexual but I didn’t think it was in the end, he just smacked them about a bit, no thrusting or anything. I could be completely wrong of course because I’m sure I have a lot of story left to go with the pyramid head!

Shemson 06.25.22	Ok so the hospital is fucking terrifying. The nurses are way scarier than the Lying things. The hallways are spooky and the need to search for items to progress makes it very scary, especially when guarding Maria before she has a lay down 🤣 Then that little kid traps me with some weird flesh lips and suddenly it’s like hospital part 2 where they amped up the creepiness x10! I’m not really sure wtf is going on but it’s engaging and terrifying. I just did a hilarious elevator pop quiz which armed me with a shit load of shotgun shells so I’m guessing danger is coming. Just got two rings for a creepy lady door so that’s next up! Gonna take the dog for a walk in the sunshine after all that 🤣

Now I’m outside again and whatever happened to the hospital has happened out here too! It’s pitch black and way scarier than it was in the fog. Just went through that cool door that wouldn’t open before on Katz Street

Shemson 06.26.22	My experience has definitely not been awful. Graphics and combat system dated sure but the games quality so far. If the originals are even better that’s great but this is what I have.

Shemson 06.26.22	I could be wide of the mark but it feels like Silent Hill is feeding off people’s guilt and shame and adjusting their monsters appropriately. The fat lad was surrounded by corpses at all times because he killed a dog and he had a pizza earlier because he’s been bullied for being fat. Angela is clearly dealing with the abuse her father gave her but feels like she deserves it sadly. Not sure about the lying figures and mannequins but the killer nurses for James makes sense as his wife died and the nurses couldn’t save her. Not sure about Laura and Maria! Just rowed my way over to the hotel, calling it a night now but excited for a big finale!
Shemson 06.28.22	Giving up all my weapons to go to the basement was not cool I think the weirdest thing in this whole game, even more than Angela’s Dad was using a can opener to open a can of… lightbulbs???

Shemson 06.30.22	Yeah mate, what a great game! I got the In Water ending - sad stuff but makes sense! Running through it again as I heard there are hidden things you can collect second time round to unlock different endings!
ConcubinaryCode 06.30.22	Yeah, there's 3 endings you can get first go around, 2 as new game+ that require items, then a 6th after you have beat Maria's scenario. There's also an extra riddle mode if you did the riddles on hard and you unlock ammo multiplyer which you'll need if you want to play on hard. There's also a few items that pop up second playthrough. If you liked the music btw silenthillmemories.net let's you dl the music. Glad to hear you had a great journey! You should try sh3 sometime soon as well.
BigPleb 06.30.22	The remasters are rough, legendary game regardless. Make sure you give Number 4 a go as well, the combat is stiff but it's definitely the scariest game in the series for me.
