08.04.22 | I remember the good old days of Joy Division and Harvey Milk that seemed like they went the distance of encapsulating futility, but like a slick monster, the beast learns and knows how to adapt to where prior remedy becomes virtually ineffectual. |

08.04.22 | Listening to super depressing music while being depressed seems like a stupid idea to me |
Shemson
08.04.22 | Depression has no face, he wears a mask and walks amongst us in plain sight
Depression is an empty void and no good music should make you feel nothing
I’ve found music that reminds me of being depressed but that’s really only because of how I felt when I first heard it |
Pho3nix
08.04.22 | "I don't think I have ever really come across an album that can really get to the sort of bottom of feeling in a way that evokes the notion of utter surrender upon one's life that one ordinarily feels when in a state of hopelessness."
Try 'Dirt', 'Tripod' (self-titled) and 'Jar of Flies' by Alice in Chains. Also throw in 'Above' by Mad Season. |

08.05.22 | true depression is not bothering to put depressive music on bc it's too much effort to do so |
ArsMoriendi
08.05.22 | I feel like Halcyon Digest by Deerhunter usually comforts me when I'm in a funk |
Ecnalzen
08.05.22 | Sufferer [2]. I love that album but it fucks me up a little from time to time |
gravityswitch
08.05.22 | It absolutely hits too close to home. We will overcome my friends =( |

08.05.22 | Appreciate the recs so far, this actually might turn up to be really nice to listen to.
I'm kind of coming up out of the depths of the worst of it so to speak, since about a week ago. I wouldn't ever be able to make a list or think about it in that context otherwise, and I've been pretty absent here compared to my
usual very daily excursions around the site. |
BAT
08.05.22 | discovered 'daniel johnston - 1990' within a week of a childhood bestie passing away and it's been burnt into my mind since. it's a brutal snapshot of someone struggling to balance career success against a deteriorating mental state, left unfinished because they were put into a psychiatric hospital for crashing a plane. |

08.05.22 | Depression? Isn’t that just a fancy word for feeling “bummed out”? |

08.05.22 | Lifted - Bright Eyes |

08.05.22 | Strangely enough, the following album ( that i love) give me this deep depress feeling: Radiohead- OK Computer |
North0House2
08.05.22 | My depression music is usually always Talons' and William Basinski's Disintegration Loops. I find if I listen to most of Talons' discography (which is magnificent by the way) first, and then listen to the Disintegration Loops afterwards - typically around sunset or dawn, then it inspires me because I grasp a fleeting moment of beauty in this world.
Then I fall back in to the ranks. Rinse, repeat. |

08.05.22 | DSBM, but check Lifelover - Erotik, or Xasthur - To Violate The Oblivious. To me they capture the cold feeling, tunnel vision, detachedness, cynicism, and hopeless feeling really well |
