Assemblage 09.16.21	SputFact: I have no Dream Theater album rating over a four. Though, I have bouts of maybe pushing any of the top three up now and then.

Assemblage 09.16.21	Yeah, for sure. I will have to go back and revisit Change of Seasons, as it is definitely the one I am least familiar with. I'd be curious where it could end up amidst their full lengths.

Assemblage 09.16.21	Thanks Jester, most of the ones I've ended up seeing were pretty wonk and twisted lol. Especially some of the more recent. I looked at some super old lists from '07 and it's funny seeing how favorited this band was here then. Just like how I remember lol.

Assemblage 09.16.21	I guess I must have had a different interpretation of based then, lol. But oh well, no harm no foul, I just don't see the necessitated requirement for Metropolis because the story doesn't really do it for me, and musically I feel like it's only half there. Six Degrees is much more fundamental in that aspect.
TheOrgazoid 09.16.21	It's nice to see someone lukewarm on Metropolis, but seeing Systematic Chaos above it makes me twitch.
JDubb 09.16.21	2 is superb - listened to that today. Albums from Train of Thought on are my favs. Most early albums are too dated in sound for me.

Assemblage 09.17.21	In the Presence of Enemies Pt. 1 and 2 together is extremely satisfying. It isn't perfect, but damn near everytime Part Two reverts into the very beginning intro bit, it gets me. I was also always privy on the sloth pace buildup in The Ministry of Lost Souls; and The Dark Eternal Night and to an extent Constant Motion are really fun songs. I can vibe with the majority of the album and I like the overall aesthetic of it, but when it came out it really had to win me over because I was disappointed in most of it except for the few extreme highs that it reached. Something like A Dramatic Turn of Events actually does the feel and flow of Systematic Chaos a whole lot smoother, but I have grown to really like the arrangement of SC over time.
Assemblage 09.17.21	I didn't get to revisit the Octavarium t/t before my posting, but it's basically the next thing I was going to listen to. I will report back if it has swayed me over in a way to adjust the list, always a possibility. Black Clouds is just a no-go for me. I really don't know why but everytime I've given it a listen I just want to change it pretty quickly. I always stick it out though and I'm left with just a weird taste in my mouth after it. But I do expect many to have their own DT favorites that spans the whole gamut really, and to be honest, I still feel like they have potential to do something really great again and have plenty of room to explore more ideas because it doesn't feel like their discography yet is complete.
