| Amazing Bassists
Although I play guitar these bassists have inspired me to play Bass | 1 | Death From Above 1979 Jesse F. Keeler
Although he played with a pick you can't deny that he was a great fucking Bassist.
Examples: You're A Woman, I'm A Machine; Little Girl | 1 | Jesse F. Keeler
Although he played with a pick you can't deny that he was a great fucking Bassist.
Examples: You're A Woman, I'm A Machine; Little Girl | 2 | The Mars Volta Juan Alderete
Love the band, and he puts so much into the Cd's and live too.
Examples: Day Of The Baphomets | 2 | Juan Alderete
Love the band, and he puts so much into the Cd's and live too.
Examples: Day Of The Baphomets | 3 | Red Hot Chili Peppers Flea
Although he is in the Red Hot Chili Peppers I respect him more for his work in The Mars Volta.
Examples: Take The Veil Cerpin Taxt (The Mars Volta), Higher Ground (RHCP) | 3 | Flea
Although he is in the Red Hot Chili Peppers I respect him more for his work in The Mars Volta.
Examples: Take The Veil Cerpin Taxt (The Mars Volta), Higher Ground (RHCP) | 4 | Muse Wolstenholme
Although his bass lines aren't very hard to play they are very memorable.
Examples: Hysteria, Time is Running Out | 4 | Chris Wolstenholme
Although his bass lines aren't very hard to play they are very memorable.
Examples: Hysteria, Time is Running Out | 5 | Rage Against the Machine Tim Commerford
I just find it amazing that he is to keep up with Tom Morello with all of those Riffs. Just flat out a great bassist.
Examples: Calm Like A Bomb, Take The Power Back (Not my Fav. Rage Song, but great bass work) | 5 | Tim Commerford
I just find it amazing that he is to keep up with Tom Morello with all of those Riffs. Just flat out a great bassist.

07.04.07 | So since the comments don't come up on here here is what i have to say about each:
1. Although he played with a pick you can't deny that he was a great fucking Bassist.
Examples: You're A Woman, I'm A Machine; Little Girl
2. Love the band, and he puts so much into the Cd's and live too.
Examples: Day Of The Baphomets
3. Although he is in the Red Hot Chili Peppers I respect him more for his work in The Mars Volta.
Examples: Take The Veil Cerpin Taxt (The Mars Volta), Higher Ground (RHCP)
4. Although his bass lines aren't very hard to play they are very memorable.
Examples: Hysteria, Time is Running Out
5. I just find it amazing that he is to keep up with Tom Morello with all of those Riffs. Just flat out a great bassist.
Examples: Calm Like A Bomb, Take The Power Back (Not my Fav. Rage Song, but great bass work) | LifeInABox
07.04.07 | 3 is overrated. | tinathefatlard
07.04.07 | ^^ You're a metalhead, of course you would say that. | Doppelganger
07.04.07 | Flea's actually one of my favorite bassists. Flea and Frusciante are both excellent musicians, but when you bring in Kiedis, everything should suck. But I love RHCP to death for some reason. | LifeInABox
07.04.07 | His basslines are so easy though =/ | tinathefatlard
07.04.07 | how many RHCP songs have you heard? listen to the funk songs and tell me that those basslines are easy. | Doppelganger
07.04.07 | Claypool > everyone on this list | The_Flash!!!!
07.04.07 | Oh my god I totally forgot les claypool | chimera908
07.04.07 | Sean Malone!? Not just for his work in Cynic but Gordian Knot too. | DaveBum69
07.04.07 | sir this list need some Matt Freeman, if you want bass inspiration check him out | Bron-Yr-Aur
07.04.07 | itt people think good basslines have to be technically complex | Confessed2005
07.04.07 | Where's Claypool? | antihippy
07.04.07 | sean malone
claypool
victor wooten
'nuff said. | Yield
07.04.07 | I like the list, but it lacks Victor Wooten, Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller, Jaco Pastorius, and Mingus...and more...
:D | samthebassman
07.04.07 | Flea is far from overated and his basslines are pretty damn hard, you must be a superstar Hottie. | Bfhurricane
07.05.07 | Steve Harris - Iron Maiden
John Myung - Dream Theater
Cliff Burton - Metallica
I dare anyone here to attempt at John Myung's solos. | samthebassman
07.05.07 | Myung is awesome but his solo's, like Dream Theater as a whole, seem to be missing something. Technically great but not quite there for me. | Bfhurricane
07.05.07 | I see where youre coming from. Nevertheless, he's amazing. Ive actually bothered to YouTube him a few times, he obviously more impressive as a solo player than in the band. | Doppelganger
07.05.07 | But Dream Theater don't even know who John Myung is. | chimera908
07.05.07 | Oh man it was sad watching the making of systematic chaos DVD. Myung never even spoke and you'd actually see him just following Petrucci like he does most the time. Not sure if its his lack of creativity or the band simply takes him for granted. | shindip
03.31.09 | Needs Les Claypool and John Entwhistle | Lunarfall
03.31.09 | oh man doppelganger, that comment brought back memories of watching the adam02 dream theater videos, i must watch those again |
