It's a fine album, probably deserves to be higher. Just too juvenile for my liking much like a lot of this list.

Take Off Your Pants And Jacket

Probably my least favourite (good) blink album lyrically, just really don’t appreciate how impersonal some of these songs feel at all. The stories behind this album don’t help much either with the band having to write singles that’ll have greater mainstream appeal. I mean I know it is what it is in the music business but songs like “The Dwayne Show” are fine but just too bland and boring.

Really love all the joke songs too they are so funny I laugh everytime. Also I can’t listen to “Every time I look for You” without thinking of American Pie so that’s really nice.
To this albums credit I think the production sounds great, which I know saying that indicates I know very little about production but I lack the ability to describe the sounds that my little ears are hearing at this point which I am trying to work on.
One more thing the fact that it took Machine Gun Kelly 30 years to piece together the pun in the album title is something.

One More Time

Don’t really know what to make of it so far, I mean it’s fine but theres a lot of rehashed cliches from previous albums and also bands that blink inspired. It’s also kind of depressing seeing Tom really trying to dress and act like a teenager again (this has everything to do with the album) but I think it’s more of a marketing decision than him really having issues. Respect him for finally getting his yead out of his ass and getting back together with the boys one last time though.
One thing I will say about the actual album is how I feel like there are pieces and moments that could’ve been a good blink song if they were put together with a better producer who hasn’t produced some of the worst albums in recent history.
(two things) You don’t know what you’ve got is such a letdown, the chorus is great but the “on my own here we go”/“stuck in life’s waiting room” before it ruins everything.

Pretty hard to relate to any of blink's albums anymore but I can't deny how (I can’t believe I’m typing this shit what am I doing with my life) well written these songs are for the demographic they target. The riffs on this album are so simple and clean for any beginner guitarists or bass player to butcher. What brings this album down is Scott but he really does get better on the bands’ following records so I guess I’ll let him off the hook.

Enema Of The State

Not much to complain about just an all-round good album, except for “The Party Song”, thanks Mark.
Enema served it’s purpose at a pivotal point in my adolescence but nowadays all it is to me is an embarrassing reminder that I based my entire personality at one point in my life around this band.

Dogs Eating Dogs

I think the world can collectively agree the best recorded EP in existence is probably something that’s really good but for my money “Dogs Eating Dogs” is quite enjoyable to those who are 12 years old or Dave Days.
“When I Was Young” is fuckin great, I especially love the part where Tom (or whoever wrote and played Tom’s guitar part) lets go of the chord in the middle of the bridge to go check garageband to see if they we’re recording or not.
In all seriousness I think these are probably the best songs these guys have written which is strange because I imagine they had no interaction with each other in the writing process at all. So many great verses and melodies across this thing. It’s the perfect length for a blink record, has blood on the front cover, a really cheesy, endearing and catchy Christmas song, but there is one glaring issue I cannot look past.

Dogs Eating Dogs

Born December 30th 1979 to parents Sheilla Mitchell and [redacted] is a baby who would go on to change the world as we know it, pre circa-2012 no rapper had ever thought to spit a verse on top of a pop punk song except those who did and failed, but this time Travis Barkers’ longtime friend and lover, of rap music, Yelawolf entered the studio to deliver what the 2012 phenomenon prophesized, a catastrophic “Disaster” in lyrical, miracle form. I can’t imagine how frustrated Tom would’ve been to know that his pleasant little song for his daughter would be massacred by some shoelace, fedora wearin, cowboy hattin, subpar in my opinion rapper. I wanted Dogs to eat Dogs god damn it not Wolves.

Neighborhoods

Some of Tom’s best output on a blink record imo, for being the era where his yoice is at it’s weakest live honestly, I find his vocals and lyrics to be the most tolerable on this album. You can tell though this is really just Angels and Airwaves featuring Mark and Travis, which is basically the direction the band should’ve headed in anyways if Tom wasn’t such a dickyead.
Objectively I know it’s just an average 2010s pop rock album lazily stitched together by a band who can’t even stand to be in the same room as each other but I have a lot of memories attached to these songs I can’t put it any lower. Also why is it now that I’ve only realized that snake charmer and the hearts all gone interlude are bonus tracks? I don’t know why but that’s so strange to me.
3.5/5
Best: Ghost on the Dance Floor, Even If She Falls, Keleidoscope, Wishing Well, Natives
Worst: Love is Dangerous (how is this not a bonus track?)

Kind of strange how Tom heavy this album is but I guess that’s one of the reasons why it’s good, not to say Mark doesn’t have his moments but I think Jerry Finn probably just realized Tom’s voice is just a lot more unique and expressive, like as a kid I didn’t even realize “All of this” is actually Robert Smith and not Hoppus, which I know is dumb but everyone can hear a blink song at the big drink and say “hey it’s that alien man child guy with the small things”. Like no one ever quotes Mark lines like “Where are You?”, “Voice Inside my Yead” or “This Can’t Be the End…”, although Mark does drop that sick verse about Jack and Sally clementing this album as a certified hot topic classic.

Best – Asthenia, Always, Feeling This, Obvious, Down, Stockholm Syndrome
Worst – I’m Lost Without You
