celtic frost and discharge... and pantera
Good list. I love "Shot in the Dark" too.
You ever checked Leatherwolf's "Street Ready"? Pretty sure you'll love it dude.
"Shot in the Dark" rules, whole album is great.
A couple of modern hair metal albums that deserve your attention are Crazy Lixx - Ruff Justice and Maverick - Cold Star Dancer.
Glad to see White Lion on there. Their guitar player was so much better than the music they played. I do have to say that "Fight to Survive" was the better album, though.
I like Big Game the most.
That saxon album is just terrible
Cant speak on the rest of these albums specifically
Some great jams & facts here.
"Ride Like the Wind" rocks hard.
"Shot in the Dark" is an immortal jam
"Hair Metal That Doesn't Suck Vol. 2"
talk about an oxymoron
12 isn't hair though, more fun rock
should check out pre wasp: sister sister
Props to 5 and 17. I’ll leave the others.
Ultimate Sin!! Come on, can you take a look at the cover and not stay there hazing??
"Glad to see White Lion on there. Their guitar player was so much better than the music they played."
Pretty accurate description of every single hair metal band.
The Ultimate Sin is a fun album. Hook on the title track is super catchy
Def Leppard were never that good even back in their early days and Europe were better pre-The Final Countdown. 1984 is one of the most overrated albums of the 80s and VH were leagues better on Fair Warning and Women and Children First. Twisted Sister, Whitesnake, and Cinderella are pretty bleh too.
W.A.S.P. fuckin rule hard tho (especially The Headless Children and The Crimson Idol), Turbo is so overhated and wouldve been way better received if it werent done by Judas Priest, and Slave to the Grind is on of my faves (I like the debut too but its definitely not as good).
List is missing Love You to Pieces by Lizzy Borden and Hollywood Vampires by LA Guns unless those were already on Vol 1.
the headless children and crimson idol are so much better than the early stuff it's crazy
Source you better not be trying to shit-talk their debut. That album is fuckin great. The Last Command less so but that S/T debut is easily their third best.
yeah not really fan of the first 3
there's not much glam i like tbh
Listen to the first Lizzy Borden pls and thankuu
I agree, Headless Children and Crimson Idol are immortal masterpieces, I just couldn't really put them on a hair metal list.
Also, that Leatherwolf record kills, thanks for the recommendation.
--"Glad to see White Lion on there. Their guitar player was so much better than the music they played."
Pretty accurate description of every single hair metal band.--
Thinking about it, that's pretty true, but White Lion's guitarist was leagues better than their music.
Sick list man
Memories...I am guilty. Guilty pleasures really.
most of these suck tho
Europe sucks ass, and so does the band
Their stuff pre-The Final Countdown was a lot different and worth listening to.
why no KISS?
Vol. 3 will contain many missing bands and records. Give me a year or so and you'll more than likely see them.
because kiss is awful, duh
Thought the whole point of hair metal was sucking. And then swallowing after?
Love hair metal, so I appreciate that this list was even made, so some thoughts. Some bands/albums that should be here too:
-Tesla's The Great Radio Controversy
-Winger's first album (had a few trash songs, but the high end songs are prime hair metal)
-Motley Crue's Dr. Feelgood
-Firehouse's first album
-Stryper's Too Hell With the Devil
also. Dokken's Under Lock and Key is better than Tooth & Nail.
Under Lock and Key was in Vol. 1. Such a killer record.
5'd it on here so fucking hard. m/
