Ramones Albums: Worst to First
Fair warning, Rocket to Russia isn't #1 |
14 | | Ramones Pleasant Dreams
Contender for the most white-bread punk album ever made.
Best Track: The KKK Took My Baby Away |
13 | | Ramones Acid Eaters
An alright covers album, but really has no reason to exist.
Best Track: The Shape of Things to Come |
12 | | Ramones Subterranean Jungle
Better than Pleasant Dreams, but not by much. Why open your album with 2 consecutive covers?
Best Track: Pyscho Therapy |
11 | | Ramones Adios Amigos!
Kinda glad they called it quits with this one. Not horrible, but not great either.
Best Track: I Don't Wanna Grow Up |
10 | | Ramones Halfway to Sanity
This album gets a lot of shit, but I honestly don't think it's that bad. Got some killer tracks on here.
Best Track: Bop 'Til You Drop |
9 | | Ramones Animal Boy
This album is all over the place, goes from hardcore punk to AOR within only a few songs. Still has some classics though.
Best Track: Somebody Put Something in My Drink |
8 | | Ramones Mondo Bizarro
Yeah, I like this one. By far their best 90's release.
Best Track: Poison Heart |
7 | | Ramones Brain Drain
Super underrated. Probably their heaviest release, and definitely their most serious.
Best Track: Ignorance is Bliss |
6 | | Ramones Rocket to Russia
I know I'm gonna get a ton of shit for this, and it kills me to put this album so low, but the top 6 fluctuate in my personal rankings all the time. This is just where it sits right now.
Best Track: We're A Happy Family |
5 | | Ramones End of the Century
I have a strange affinity for this one, and I'm not sure why. Definitely their cheesiest record, but I find the variety of songs and tempos to be refreshing after their first 4 records.
Best Track: Let's Go |
4 | | Ramones Road to Ruin
The introduction of hard rock elements on this one help keep it high in my rankings. The band wasn't doing anything new, but the crisp production and abundance of live staples helps keep it in the top 4.
Best Track: I'm Against It |
3 | | Ramones Ramones
Can't believe it took over 35 years for this one to go gold. A classic from top to bottom.
Best Track: I Don't Wanna Go Down to the Basement |
2 | | Ramones Too Tough to Die
By far their best of the 80's and quite possibly their strongest work as a whole, but it just can't beat out #1 for me.
Best Track: Human Kind |
1 | | Ramones Leave Home
It really is a shame that their sophomore record is so frequently overlooked, because I think it might be the most consistent and well rounded album in their entire discography. Pinhead, Carbona Not Glue, California Sun, Glad to See You Go, Gimme Gimme Shock Treatment, etc... Not a single dud on the record.
Best Track: Commando |
