| LINKIN PARK FULL ALBUM METAL REMIX
Hey guys, I finally finished this 2-year project! I spend a lot of time making this the best it could be and I got completely lost in the little details... So glad it's done though. I remade this record in all the sub-genres of metal I love, and some songs have very obvious hints of my favourite artists.
I got the idea to take on this massive project because I was the biggest LP fanboy when this record came out and I probably listened to it atleast 100 times. Looking back at that cringeworthy period of my life, I still had a lot of love for this album, and since I made a metal remix of Castle of Glass when I was younger, I just decided to make this record something I would thoroughly enjoy.
Please check it out and tell me what you think!

Lost in the Echo: This track always had a metalcore vibe to me, so I decided to make it something like that. Ofcourse it isn't only 00000 because the idea was to make this track something I enjoy. I feel like the remix gave this track a lot of energy, which I felt was lacking in the original version. | 2 | | Kars Landman Living Things - Metal Remix
In My Remains: Punk and hardcore are genres I also frequently listen to, so I had to atleast make one remix in that style. I think this worked out really well, although the ending isn't as punky. Also features a guitar solo by Joshua Meijer, with whom I made my exam-project, which got high acclaim here! | 3 | | Kars Landman Living Things - Metal Remix
Burn It Down: tried to make this more of a black metal song, in the style of Enslaved with blast beast, and loads of double bass. This doesn't necessarily make it a very heavy song though, since the outcome sounds more like a melodeath song. Failed to reach my goal on this one, but I still like the result. | 4 | | Kars Landman Living Things - Metal Remix
Lies Greed Misery: the most generic djent song you probably ever heard, but it fits this song unbelievably well. I hate the original, and I think this song was improved the most. | 5 | | Kars Landman Living Things - Metal Remix
I'll Be Gone: I felt like this track could be a lot more epic, especially after hearing the demo for it; Primo. I wanted to make this song more like the demo version, and add more ambient and post-rock vibes. | 6 | | Kars Landman Living Things - Metal Remix
Castle of Glass: Like I said, I made this around 3-5 years ago, and it's pretty awful. Tried to keep close to the original, while still trying to make it atleast decent. | 7 | | Kars Landman Living Things - Metal Remix
Victimized: Another really big change compared to the original, it starts very atmospheric but get's pretty heavy. Not too fond with the heavy parts but I think the little rap section and the atmospheric parts are really nice. | 8 | | Kars Landman Living Things - Metal Remix
Roads Untraveled: This one's a massive Opeth rip-off. Went for a Blackwater Park sound while still implementing some of my own style. It's a shame I can't play acoustic guitar cause some nice fingerstyled melodies would be nice. | 9 | | Kars Landman Living Things - Metal Remix
Skin to Bone: Love the original, tried to make it more epic by adding strings and piano. | 10 | | Kars Landman Living Things - Metal Remix
Until It Breaks: the original is a mess, this one is a billion times worse. Features jazz, black metal, and some regular riff/chugs. I really hate the original so I'm glad I atleast made a tolerable version. I think the solo at the end is the best part. | 11 | | Kars Landman Living Things - Metal Remix
Tinfoil & Powerless: Combined the two tracks, cause they flow into eachother so nicely. This track is BY FAR my favourite, it sounds like modern Katatonia and everything just works so well... | 12 | | Linkin Park Living Things: Acapellas & Instrumentals
Also made the instrumentals of all the tracks available. I'd love to hear your opinion on this! Thanks for listening!

04.15.17 | Oh shit congrats dude! Has anything changed since I gave it a listen? | Beardog
04.15.17 | Not really, very small improvements, all tracks have proper production now and added electronic drums to Skin to Bone and more strings to Until it Breaks! | TVC15
04.15.17 | Sounds sick dude I'll give it another listen later | avery14th
04.15.17 | this is their worst full length which is kind of saying a lot imo, as of now at least but will check this. sounds like you put a ton of effort into it and thats always cool | Beardog
04.15.17 | Thanks! I hope I improved it for you | Snide
04.15.17 | Hey man, I'm not too big on the guitar tone, but some of the tracks are vastly improved from the originals (especially Victimized, holy shit this new version rules) | owen
04.15.17 | n e d e r l a n d | avery14th
04.16.17 | Here, I'll go ahead and give a mini review for this with 1 thing in mind: I haven't listened to living things in a while and I will NOT listen to living things for, ideally, forever. Take that as you will, anyways the best things about this are
1. You obviously know the music very well and it shows, i.e I'll Be Gone sounds like it was fucking meant to be that way, damn. It kept the tone but completely made me forget all the things I didn't like about
2. Yes, whether it says more about linkin park's musicality or your effort, most of these remixes have much better, even original things going on for them than the original.
The Negs:
There are parts that sound like pure video game music. Especially burn it down. Granted, the original already sounds like a video game but some of the added guitar did not help, and yeah if you can find a better guitar tone that'd help you out. I also feel like there are parts a bit dragged out, but I'm too lazy to look back and re-listen lol | avery14th
04.16.17 | Oh and yeah I'm not sure if you kept castle of glass as it was for sentimentality but is indeed awful haha, and the only one I feel like isn't better than the original - but that might be because its the only track I consider kind of decent on LT | BeyondCosby
04.16.17 | I lol'd when the blast beats came in on "Burn it Down". | ZippaThaRippa
04.16.17 | There's a ton of albums I grew up listening to that I would have loved to see remastered.
Idk though man I wish you could have done a Linkin Park album that I actually know | ZippaThaRippa
04.16.17 | I made a metalized version of Bruno Mars' 'Locked Out of Heaven' in Guitar Pro 5 | Beardog
04.16.17 | Guitar tone is awful because this record is full midi, and it took me 2 years because I haven't worked on it every week. Thanks for the mini review and the comments! | Beardog
04.16.17 | Sorry zippa but the only albums they released acapella versions for where LT and THP. I thought THP was decent and there wasn't that much that I could've improved and I already | pizzamachine
04.16.17 | Checked this out and was entertained😄 | Muppelope
04.16.17 | Yeah, this was cool, much as I don't really like the original. Nice work! | Kurisu
04.16.17 | This album fucking sucks so really you can only make it better! Will listen to it friend | Beardog
04.17.17 | thanks all! | starboystargirl
04.18.17 | It's better than anything I've heard off "One More Light' so far.
but midi guitars, y tho. | Beardog
04.18.17 | I don't play guitar dude... Please tell me what you think though! Also, would be great if everyone that listened to it would rank it, idc what you give it but I would like to see some honest opinions about the music I make | starboystargirl
04.18.17 | 2.5 for me. I appreciate the effort. It's a big undertaking to essentially remake someone else's album. If you could get a band together to jam these, it would work out a lot better. When 1 person takes care of all the arrangements, you're only getting one person's vision of what the music can be. Having input from a bunch of other people will open up the tracks so much. | Drifter
04.18.17 | May check. I've always loved this album though | Beardog
08.20.17 | https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJXM3HuGM3Q
Finally got around to post this on YouTube, the quality is loads better compared to the free streaming on Bandcamp! | Beardog
01.19.18 | Thinking about re-working this record with Shreddage, the guitars sound loads better that way, and I might redo some things here and there that I could improve with the musical knowledge I have now. |
