Glassjaw Worship and Tribute Ranked

At this moment, my favorite album. Really good stuff. Its hard to really attribute Glassjaw to a scene - on one hand they sound very much like Deftones/Incubus-style nu-metal, or Fall of Troy style emo, or even technical metalcore like Cave In. Worship and Tribute is notably on the softer side of things, similar to what Deftones did with White Pony and Saturday Night Wrist. Songs feature plenty of guitar interplay, massive riffs, and extreme dynamics. I also have to commend the producer for mixing every instrument perfectly (that means loud drums and bass). Favorite and least favorite song were kind of easy... the rest was basically impossible. I love every song thoroughly. Also no Convectuoso, makes my job that much harder.
1Glassjaw
Two Tabs of Mescaline

Yeah one of the greatest songs ever written. That's it. 5.5/5
2Ape Dos Mil

Was never a huge fan of this song - now I consider it one of GJ's best. Simple stuttering melody, a fantastic song progression into like 3 different melodic breakdowns - very good. 5/5
3Radio Cambodia

Energy is off the charts. The guitar interplay is fantastic, as is the weird-ass key change kind of thing for the last chorus. 5/5
4Stuck Pig

Weird, right? I just really like the aggression and colossal riffs on this song. Sounds kind of like RATM, but if the singer was gay and retarded instead of a rapper. 5/5
5The Gillette Cavalcade of Sports

The song that got me into Glassjaw. Only flaw is the rapping-ish part... everything else is wonderful.
6Mu Empire

As with many Glassjaw songs, Mu Empire transitions between thrashing Drop D metalcore chugging, autistic whining, and a harmonically rich chorus. All of this makes for a very good song. 5/5
7Trailer Park Jesus

The obvious peak of this song is the massive chorus. 5/5
8Pink Roses

Was my favorite off of the record for a while, especially with the cool shoegazey-metal chorus. It's just so short that I ended up listening to it about 10 times a day! 4/5
9Tip Your Bartender

IK putting this song so low is probably sacrilege, but I've heard "Bartender" so many times that I skip it a lot now. (That shows how good of a song it is, I guess). 4/5
10Must've Run All Day

The least interesting 'soft song' on the album. The outro is spectacular though. 4/5
11Cosmopolitan Bloodloss

I mean it's still pretty good... but whatever. Sounds like an Incubus or 311 song or something. 3/5
