10.21.14 The Songs I Want Anberlin To Play In De01.09.14 Switchfoot Ranked

Switchfoot Ranked

Ranking Switchfoot's discography before the release of their 9th studio ralbum, Fading West. rrThese rankings reflect my personal opinion only.
8Switchfoot
Learning To Breathe

A handful of gems such as the title track, but a decidedly mellow style leads to several of the later tracks blending together to
some degree.
7Switchfoot
New Way To Be Human

Includes some of my favorite SF tunes ever, such as Let That Be Enough and Company Car, but downgraded for disasters like
Sooner or Later and Something More.
6Switchfoot
Vice Verses

Has not aged well. I enjoy most of the songs, particularly the final two tracks, but the song structures are too formulaic and
utter disasters exist in The Original (lyrically) and Blinding Light (everything).
5Switchfoot
The Beautiful Letdown

Rife with stellar tracks, however cliche; only songs like More Than Fine and Redemption bring down this commercial behemoth.
4Switchfoot
Hello Hurricane

Cliche in many aspects, yet strikes emotional chords. Difficult to remained unmoved by Needle, Sing It Out.
3Switchfoot
Legend of Chin

Delightfully different in many respects. Many flashes of lyrical maturity for a debut release, and more experimentation with song
structures than many of their later releases.

Oh! Gravity.

A creative zenith for the band that even a musical neophyte such as myself can appreciate. Changing tempos, funky song
structures, and clever lyrics define this underrate gem of a release.

Nothing Is Sound

Not even the presence of underwhelming Golden can derail Switchfoot's most cohesive and powerful album to date.
