if you like burial…

yeah i know we all love burial, he's the best. but the great thing is there's a ton of tangentially similar music that you can probably get down to if you get down to burial. check it
1Pariah (UK)
Detroit Falls

b-side rivals burial's best work. pariah certainly takes influence from the man, but he does amazing things with samples too. a-side veers away from the garage/dubstep sound and the b-side is the real winner here so check that for sure. it's probably the closest you'll come to the moody, atmospheric tone of burial's work
2DjRum
Mountains

towering garage/dubstep with a swagger. "Mountains Pt. 1" and "Mountains Pt. 2 & 3" probably reflect burial's moodiness the best, but the bookends are masterful dubby tunes for the dancefloor. his 2018 full-length "Portrait with Firewood" on the legendary label R&S wasn't too shabby either.
3Objekt
Objekt #1

if burial's percussion excites you, then this should be perfect for you. objekt's drums on this EP are absolutely thunderous. heavily rhythm-based music, so don't expect somber melodies or anything.
4Blawan
Fram

"Getting Me Down" is the choice cut from Blawan. one of the stickiest vocal samples i've heard. this one will sneak up on you and dig its way into your mind.
5Kode9 and the Spaceape
Memories of the Future

the Hyperdub founder is a must-listen for burial fans. his collaborative album with MC Spaceape, who appears on burial's self-titled album, is among his best work. Kode9's dubby beats are the perfect backdrop for Spaceape's deep patois.
6El-B
The Roots of El-B

this dude was certainly an influence on the garage/dubstep/uk bass of the late 2000s and early 2010s. jittery 2-steps and jazzy synth melodies galore. if you like the rhythm of burial's stuff, this will be a treat for you.
7Volor Flex
Tramp

this one is basically a 1:1 copy of burial in almost every aspect. it's a pretty blatant ripoff so this is kind of a sure shot
8Todd Edwards
Prima Edizione

joyous, endlessly danceable 90s garage/house album. definitely not similar mood-wise to burial but i think certain fans of his could find something appealing about just how fun todd's work is. get on your feet and groove
9Martyn
Great Lengths

"Natural Selection" is an absolute classic of dubstep. a late-night banger if there ever was one—subtle, deep, and danceable.
10Joy Orbison
The Shrew Would Have Cushioned The Blow

a-side is one of my personal favorites—"Hyph Mngo" might be his most well-known, but "The Shrew Would Have Cushioned The Blow" progresses so perfectly. a huge track with a classic bass melody.
11Various Artists
Fabric Presents Elevator Music Vol. 1

good sampler of some of the more well known and lesser known artists involved int he dubstep/uk funky scene in the late 2000s
