EJinHD 05.18.14	I dunno how you feel about over ear headphones, but audio technica ATH m50s are great for their price. I love mine. I also use them with a Fiio e11 headphone amplifier. As for tips on maintaining your headphones I'm not sure how I can help you. I just try not to throw them around and I also don't listen to music on maximum volume.

GmemberKills 05.18.14	Real talk though, I'm not much of a headphone enthusiast. I own 2 pairs of headphones some over ear sony's that sound good an have lasted for over 2 years and also some in ear skull candys that have lasted over a year. They sound both great to me and were well under 40$ and i can say there durable. If you have bad luck with headphones though, I'd recommend investing in some that have a removable cord so if they mess up or start cutting in an out you can just replace the cord instead of having to buy a new pair.

EJinHD 05.18.14	A headphone amplifier allows you to get the most out your headphones in terms of detail, loudness, bass, mids, highs etc. So they're ideal. Even if you don't use an amp the m50s are still a nice sounding set of cans.
scottpilgrim10 05.18.14	FourthReich wait beats are actually good but not for the price? GmemberKills that removable cord thing is a great idea, I regularly wrap my headphone cord around my iPhone so it isn't all over the place so that might be my main problem.

GmemberKills 05.18.14	If you want some good inexpensive in ears headphones i'd really recommend getting a pair of those skull candys. That sounds like that could be hurting your headphones, I wish i could recommend some good headphones with a detachable cord but I'm sure you could google and find a good pair. I know when i decide to finally invest in a good pair I'll be going that route.

It just seems like the only thing that matters to beats owners is the logo not the sound quality. I have a hipster mentality with most things though honestly. Are any of the other headphones you've owned better than the beats?

scottpilgrim10 05.18.14	Judio! Yeah Skull Candy was pretty bad or just as good as any other $20 headphones I've purchased. I really don't get why no one cares about Dexys on Sputnik. Their first 2 albums almost have 1,000 ratings on RYM.

tommygun 05.18.14	haven't tried them i got the hd-558s... user bigpleb has some like that they may even be hd-360s not 100% sure though the hd-558s are great but can't really wear em around in public cos they're open back best bet is to go to a shop and try some on if you can, read reviews, research etc etc

qwe3 05.18.14	sound quality is very good for the price, and they are foldable and comfortable. they are probably the best value headphones in terms of quality, portability and durability

Nud 05.18.14	I have Sennheiser CX 300-II in ear noise cancelling headphones. They are awesome and reasonably cheap. I put them through hell and they remain durable. Got no plans to change anytime soon

NightProwler 05.18.14	I own some Bose which I'm more than happy with, in-ears. Also, be careful of that "knob" on the wire (the one you can adjust the length of the two in-ears with) - if you keep it at the same place for too long (say, the bottom), it'll eventually knaw through one of the two wires.
menawati 05.18.14	Had some Shure in ear ones, mid-range model, replaced under warranty twice because went crackly, the wires couldnt take the twisting I suppose, so ill never buy Shure again. Grado is a good make for durability, I've had a pair of SR60's for years still going strong, just upgraded to SR80i, really thick wires, basic modular design, sounds great with huge soundstage (but is open back so only good for at home really as it leaks sound). http://www.whathifi.com/review/grado- sr80i
RTCW 05.18.14	If you're getting through headphones that fast then you treat them like shit. My Dad has been using some Sennheisers for over 20 years and they still work perfectly and he even drops them or sits on the cord and pulls the headphones by accident.
