12.26.16 | I feel like i missed a really big one, but i'm sure i'll remember at some point. List is more for reference than anything else. |

12.26.16 | Not bad man, I would list Melvins, Bush, Silverchair, For Love Not Lisa... |
hal1ax

12.26.16 | "I downright despise Nevermind"
such edge |
Brabiz
12.26.16 | @hal1fax, yes. Yes it is haha. |
Brabiz
12.26.16 | Bush, Silverchair? Not very kvlt. I'll have to do a Post Grunge list in the future
Nevermind is terrible. It's too clean sounding, too repetitive, and is overall really flat and uninteresting (in my opinion at least) |
hal1ax
12.26.16 | yikes |
Brabiz
12.26.16 | Too edgy? |
hal1ax
12.26.16 | uhh i don't even know what the fuck edgy means
just looks like u tryin way too hard to let everyone know u are rly into bm lol
maybe just try being yourself |
Brabiz
12.26.16 | Hmmm. I am in a black metal band afterall. I mean.. that's what the picture is from lol.
I just thought it was a cool picture because yeah, i am really into black metal :)
I'm very much my own person! In fact i find it extremely boring to stick to one style. I'm very eclectic when it comes to my interests, especially music. |
hal1ax
12.26.16 | right on bruh |
ArsMoriendi
12.26.16 | Grunge rules
Sad you don't like Hole
Do you not consider Smashing Pumpkins real grunge, I know some people don't |
Brabiz
12.26.16 | I think Gish at least should definitely be considered 'real' grunge. Either way they're absolutely fantastic, and deserve all of the praise they recieve! :) |
Shadowmire
12.26.16 | pumpkins were never a grunge band yea |
Brabiz
12.26.16 | @Shadowmire
More psych rock on their first album but certain moments definitely sound very grunge. i could see them fitting in with a lot of the more unconventional 'grunge' bands who came out of Seattle. |
neekafat
12.26.16 | No judging man haha, opins are opins |
Brabiz
12.26.16 | I don't think failure would count, love them though!
To clarifiy, i don't actually hate Nevermind, in fact i want to love it, and listen often in case it randomly clicks with me. I want to like it! |
someguest
12.26.16 | god I wish people would stop saying Smashing Pumpkins were/are grunge
fuck that noise |
Shadowmire
12.26.16 | the pains of being a rock band in the grunge era |
Brabiz
12.26.16 | Yeah, but the music is good, so what does it matter? :) i think it could stand up in quality next to the best of the grunge movement |
TVC15
12.26.16 | When a lot of these aren't even from Seattle |
Brabiz
12.26.16 | But they're all from that first wave of grunge before post grunge was a thing :) i dunno, i just wanted to make a list with grunge bands people may not know. The genre is pretty great, and even though there's only a few bands, most of them have been almost or completely forgotten.
I don't think it matters where they're from as long as they have an authentic sound and came out during the 87-93' time period :) |
neekafat
12.26.16 | I'm more of a variety guy so Nevermind is always great for me lol
@Someguest Pumpkins are amazing but def not grunge |
Brabiz
12.26.16 | I think i'll try listening to Nevermind again right now. Couldn't hurt! |
Brabiz
12.26.16 | Genuinely enjoying Teen Spirit. Hmmmmm. Maybe i finally enjoy this? I'm optimistic |
danielcardoso
12.26.16 | Nice really underrated acts here, but you sure missed a lot of great picks too. |
Brabiz
12.26.16 | Do tell! I'd love to hear them |
danielcardoso
12.26.16 | Brad - Shame
Melvins - Houdini
Gruntruck - Push
Hole - Celebrity Skin
Local H - As Good As Dead
The Gits - Frenching The Bully
Dandelion - I Think I'm Gonna Be Sick
Not to mention extremely mandatory albums from bands you had already listed, but on this i can give ya a pass lol. |
DoofusWainwright
12.26.16 | A few I don't know on this, bookmarked |
danielcardoso
12.26.16 | Oh nvm about Gruntruck, i hadn't seen 12 there lol. |
Brabiz
12.26.16 | I missed Dandelion! I even own that CD lol damn
Also i decided to only do one album per band. Otherwise this list would be twice as big |
FLRTE
07.26.18 | I'd put Chokebore in the mix, probably through " A taste for bitters" which is very grunge, even though I like "Black Black" better. |
