Trve Grvnge

Ranking of grunge albums by pretty much all of the OG grunge bands,
28Melvins
Houdini

Honorable Mention: is this even grunge? It's amazing, but i see a lot of people mentioning it, and i never really thought of it as grunge.
27Send No Flowers
Juice

Honorable Mention: Technically Post-Grunge, but is good enough to stand next to everything else on this list. Sounds a lot like Alice In Chains / Stone Temple Pilots.

Reaaalllyyy obscure and hard to come by
26Noiseheads
1994

Honorable Mention: Extremely unknown band, sort of a grunge revival type of thing. Sounds a lot like Soundgarden.
25Hole
Pretty On The Inside

Everything else on this list is pretty much god tier, so there's no point in having a ranking, but i really dislike Hole.
24Candlebox
Candlebox
23Pond (USA)
Pond
22Dandelion
I Think I'm Gonna Be Sick

Very Nirvana sounding, very obscure.
21My Sister's Machine
Diva
20Babes In Toyland
Painkillers
19Malfunkshun
Return to Olympus
18Paw
Dragline

Sort of obscure, Jessie is an amazing song. Imagine the heavy, sludgy sound of TAD but more melodic, and some light splashes of country in the mix.
17Stone Temple Pilots
Core
16Screaming Trees
Sweet Oblivion
15Nirvana
Bleach

The only Nirvana record i truly love. I sort of dislike Nevermind, and thought In Utero was really good, but it never interested me enough to return to. Bleach is so raw and heavy and filled with rage. There's this genuine urgency and passion in Kurt's delivery (the track School especially) and the riffs here are genuinely crushing and brutal (Negative Creep is so heavy) I love it!
14Mad Season
Above
13Tad
Inhaler
12Gruntruck
Inside Yours
11Pearl Jam
Ten (2009 Remix & Remaster)

A bit overrated, but a fantastic record nonetheless. Not a fan of any of the albums that came after this, but Ten is really damn good. (Vs. is pretty good, but not as catchy and memorable)
10Blood Circus
Primal Rock Therapy

Really obscure and completely forgotten, sadly. Super memorable, well written Seattle Grunge.
9Love Battery
Between the Eyes
8Temple of the Dog
Temple of the Dog
7L7
Hungry for Stink

Extremely underrated!
6Mudhoney
Superfuzz Bigmuff
5Green River
Dry As a Bone

One of the earlier grunge bands, really raw, punk-ish sound. Love it!
4Mother Love Bone
Mother Love Bone

Doesn't sound like typical grunge at all! Great album!
3Skin Yard
1,000 Smiling Knuckles
2Soundgarden
Badmotorfinger

Such an amazing album, Chris Cornell is an extremely talented vocalist. Was never really into Superunknown, i always prefered the grit and heaviness of their earlier albums.
1Alice In Chains
Dirt

The greatest album to come out of the Seattle grunge scene, hands down. There's no disputing this.
