Eternal Sunshines For Your Spotless Mind
16 albums that I've found either take multiple listens to fully comprehend or simply get better with every new listening. |
1 | | Akron/Family Akron/Family
The band's debut...I always catch different things when I put this on. |
2 | | Andrew Bird Noble Beast
I really liked this when I first heard it. After about a week, I just completely loved it. |
3 | | Birthmark Antibodies
I completely hated this album on my first listen. Decided to give it another shot a few weeks later, and actually liked some of it. |
4 | | Bjork Biophilia
Most Bjork albums would probably fit into this list, but this one seems to fit the best for me. |
5 | | Coheed and Cambria The Second Stage Turbine Blade
This album will never get old. Each time I listen to it, I love it more. |
6 | | Dredg El Cielo
See number 5. |
7 | | Fences Fences
I saw Fences open for Against Me! a few years ago in Athens, Georgia. Completely fell in love with his songwriting and looked him up immediately. This is his debut album and it's just completely fantastic, and I love it more with every listen. |
8 | | Hope Sandoval and the Warm Inventions Through the Devil Softly
An underrated beauty. |
9 | | Jesca Hoop Kismet
Weird, bizarre, and completely brilliant. There is nobody like Jesca Hoop. |
10 | | Laura Veirs July Flame
I fell in love with the opening track, "I Can See Your Tracks", on my first listen but didn't care for the rest. Now after multiple plays, I love every song on the record. |
11 | | Lisa Germano In The Maybe World
It all sounds the same...yet it's so engaging. I really wanted to just love it the first time I heard it, but I couldn't. The more I tried though, the more I found new things that made the similarities sound more like differences. You have to be very patient with this album. |
12 | | The Magnetic Fields i
I didn't like this one nearly as much as their other albums at first, but now it's one of my favorites. |
13 | | Murder by Death Like the Exorcist, but More Breakdancing
Their sound changes with each album, but this one in particular is a very strange one to appreciate at first for most people. That's just what people tell me though. I loved it the first time I heard it. |
14 | | Silversun Pickups Pikul
Completely different than their three studio albums. If you hear any of those before this one, it's difficult to accept that this is still Silversun Pickups. With maybe the exception of "Kissing Families", which would probably fit rather well on Carnavas. |
15 | | Tom Waits The Black Rider
There are way too many Tom Waits albums that would have been perfect for this list, but this one seems to stick out the most. |
16 | | William Elliott Whitmore Animals in the Dark
On my first listen of this, I wanted there to be more than there was with each track. But as I listen again and again, I tend to appreciate it just how it is. |
