My Look At Billboard's Alternative

I will be looking at Billboard's Alternative charts and grading them from A-F. rWill do this prob every month
1Fitz and the Tantrums
More Than Just a Dream

"Out of My League" - a sellout song from a decent indie-soul band. Take out sax,
add in synth and this is it. C+
Pure Heroine

"Royals" - The worst song on her addicting debut, #1 for 7 wks was a bit too much
for it. B-
Bad Blood

"Pompeii" - Decent indie pop with a big hook. Gang chants do turn it off for me a bit
though. AY HEY OH AY HEY OH! B+
Spreading Rumours

"Ways to Go" - One of the worst songs I've heard this year; shitty vocals, over-use
of synths and bad lyrics. F
5Imagine Dragons
Night Visions

"Demons" - Coldplay rip off, pretty bland and lifeless too. C+
6Cage the Elephant

"Come a Little Closer" - Better than Thank You Happy Birthday, but far off from
classics like "In One Ear" or "Rest for the Wicked" B+
7Capital Cities
In a Tidal Wave of Mystery

"Safe and Sound" - Not alternative; this is shit synth pop. Fuck this song so hard
up its own ass. D+
8Tame Impala

"Elephant" - Yay, psychedelic on the alternative charts! Lovin' this so much! A+
9The Neighbourhood
I Love You

"Sweater Weather" - Bland as fuck, bad and lazy rhymes: "house" and "blouse";
hipster indie shit. C
10Kings of Leon
Mechanical Bull

"Supersoaker" - Not worthy for their comeback single, rather boring and simple. B

"Trying to Be Cool" - They can try to be cool, but 1901 was their peak and this is
far off. C+
1230 Seconds to Mars
Love Lust Faith + Dreams

"City of Angels" - Overly long, but manages to be one of the best tracks off of their
latest shitfest. B+
13New Politics
A Bad Girl in Harlem

"Harlem" - It's pretty bland and overplayed on radio. C+
Secondhand Rapture

"Hurricane" - goddamn it i hate this song. it's devoid of personality and meaning. C+

"Wake Me Up!" - This is not fuckin alternative. Shitty EDM and no more. F
16Panic! at the Disco
Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die!

"Miss Jackson" - Way too Fall Out Boy rip-off and repetitive. D+
17Linkin Park

"A Light That Never Comes" - Nu-metal sellouts yet again. Steve Aoki dubstep is
what kills this Burn it Down Part 2. D+
18 Coldplay

"Atlas" - Bland and lifeless, like everything else Coldplay do. D+
19Arcade Fire

"Reflektor" - YES! Love this shit. A+
The 2nd Law

"Follow Me" - Muse can go to hell. Sellout song fuckdamn it. D+
21The Neighbourhood
I Love You

"Afraid" - A good redeeming 2nd single after Sweater Weather sucked. B+
22Pearl Jam
Lightning Bolt

"Sirens" - Kind of bland for Vedder and co., but this is better than most of the other
shit here. B
23Avenged Sevenfold
Hail to the King

"Hail to the King" - So booooooooooooooooooooooooring. C+
24Portugal. The Man
Evil Friends

"Purple Yellow Red & Blue" - It's ok. B

"17 Crimes" - Hell yeah fuckin' right. Lookin' forward to this album! A+
Holy Fire

"My Number" - Inhaler was better, but I'll take this. B+
An Awesome Wave

"Tessellate" - goddamn those vocals suck Hard. don't understand their popularity. C+
Pumpin' Blood

"Pumpin Blood" - Very bland. C+
29Arctic Monkeys

"Do I Wanna Know?" - Do I smell some QOTSA influence? Whatever, love this shit. A-
30Blue October

"Bleed Out" - Haven't been relevant since Hate Me. This is just ok though. B
31Vampire Weekend
Modern Vampires of the City

"Unbelievers" - Goddamn this band blows hard. C-
32The 1975
The 1975

"Chocolate" - Damn this shit is catchy even if you don't understand jack shit of the
lyrics. A-
33Queens of the Stone Age
...Like Clockwork

"I Sat by the Ocean" - Homme and co. are pretty back on track after Era. B+
34 The Killers
Direct Hits

"Shot at the Night" - A reminder why The Killers have just gone downhill since Hot
Fuss. C-
35Fall Out Boy
Save Rock and Roll

"The Phoenix" - The only thing they can save now is their irrelevancy. Too poppy. D+

"Fuck Around (All Night)" - So fuckin catchy and this shit will get you in the panties
vagina pussy. A-
37 Switchfoot
Who We Are

"Who We Are" - Boring mainstream rock. D+
38Nine Inch Nails
Hesitation Marks

"Came Back Haunted" - YES! This should have been #1 instead of all the other shit.
Very dance and appeals to kids in my school too. Nine Inch Dicks is lol A+
The Bones of What You Believe

"The Mother We Share" - This will hit the top 10 soon. Too catchy to not. A-
40The Naked and Famous
In Rolling Waves

"Hearts Like Ours" - This deserved a lot better. Top 5 at least. A+
