2018 especially was a huge year, and a lot of those artists are readying to release new material |
Snake.
03.24.20 | 2018 was a very anomalous year tbh
and it was mainly dominated by bands that all had their breakout albums drop at once idk if we'll ever get a year like such again |
butt.
03.24.20 | Here are my favorite modern metalcore records:
|
MarsKid
03.24.20 | Terrible takes itt
Last year was solid as well. And I wouldn't say it was anomalous when prior years have seen very strong releases. Modern era is still kicking.
Now, if you're not interested in metalcore because it's not the early 2000s/late 90s anymore, then there's no convincing you otherwise. If you still stay involved in the scene though, plenty of artists are active and making compelling works. |

^^^ This. Even though I’m hard pressed to name bands off of the top of my head that fit (even though people already named Loathe and Jesus Piece), I totally agree with this statement. |
MarsKid
03.25.20 | If you like progcore, metalcore is alive and thriving.
If you don't like progcore, metalcore is still alive and thriving.
There's something for everyone. I dunno how many times I'm gonna have to have this conversation until the 'metalcore is dead' trope can die out already. Not to sound rude, but it just gets tiresome after a while. |
