10.02.11 | If youre using iTunes, then you cant open flac files, as they arent supported by apple. You can use dBpoweramp to convert to apple lossless (.M4A) or .Wav and then iTunes will support your music files |

Deviant.
10.02.11 | Download Switch Sound File Converter and convert the flac file to an mp3 or whatever. That way you retain the quality but in mp3 format and you can play it in itunes |

10.02.11 | mp3 files don't preserve the quality of the file dev c'mon. at least use aac format if you go lossy. |

10.02.11 | "mp3 files don't preserve the quality of the file dev c'mon. at least use aac format if you go lossy."
Yeah, but it really won't diminish it all that much |
jefflebowski
10.02.11 | I thought Mp3 format is a higher rate of KBp's than AAC, at least on itunes - you can import stuff as 192 Kbp mp3's, but only 128 Kbp AAC's |
sniper
10.02.11 | the difference between 320kbps mp3 and 320kbps aac is pretty dramatic actually, and lossless compared to 320kbps mp3 is definitely noticeable. although i won't deny you could do much worse than a good mp3 file. |
sniper
10.02.11 | don't be dumb bro, i rip all CDs at 320kbps AAC and some music (moslty orchestral) in apple lossless. at lower bit rates the difference between AAC and mp3 is negligible but at high quality AAC is way closer to producing cd quality sound. its just a newer, better codec. |
clercqie
10.02.11 | Cool Dev, you're using Switch Soundfile Converter too :) |

10.02.11 | use audacity + LAME instead |
Liberi Fatali
10.02.11 | There are millions of ways you can go, just pick one and if its decent then stick with it.
Personally I just use winamp for playing flac files which has native flac support.
Exact audio copy for ripping CDs.
And if I want to listen to a flac file on my iphone, to convert it to mp3 I use foobar2000 + lame codec.
Done and done and done. |
