08.24.11 | how could anyone hate smoothies?
I like to make the Original Orange Julius recipe at home. Just OJ concetrate, water, milk, sugar, vanilla, ice. Theres one thing missing, some kind of secret ingredient, but its close enough. |
Jozh
08.24.11 | Ah, I'm going to go get a smoothie from McDonald's later. |
FrankRedHot
08.24.11 | I still make my own version of a DreamSicle Smoothie when I get the chance. |

08.24.11 | "Ah, I'm going to go get a smoothie from McDonald's later."
why would you do that?? *insert meme rage face here*
make your own or at least go somewhere that knows what they're doing. McDonald's smoothies are probably made from "Apple food product" and "Orange simulation product" |
MaskAtTheMasquerade
08.24.11 | there's a Planet Smoothie about five miles from me who are probably still in business because of me. mcdonalds
smoothies are nice cause they're inexpensive and depending on the mcdonalds can be bought at any time but im sure its
not all too healthy. I've yet to have an orange julius but as soon as i have more than $1.96 in the bank i'm going to invest
in a fine cup of that stuff. also, smoothie king is great but they overprice their shit so im like "nah bo" |
BallsToTheWall
08.24.11 | I make a shitload of smoothies, basis of my life. Ingredients I like to use are frozen fruits of any variety, always a banana, flax seed powder, coconut, vanilla extract, cinnamon, graham crackers, peanut butter, chocolate or vanilla whey protein powder, almonds, brazil nuts or walnuts, and often use the base substance as water or unsweetened almond milk. |
MaskAtTheMasquerade
08.24.11 | GOD DAMN. how much would you charge for an authentic Balls smoothie? |
BallsToTheWall
08.24.11 | Always on the house. |
bloc
08.24.11 | Put anything in smoothie form and it rules basically |

08.24.11 | yeah I make my own too, but Jamba Juice makes some good stuff
too bad I rarely ever go there cuz of the damn sugar |
Adabelle
08.24.11 | Yeah I made one with banana, strawberries, raspberries, cherries and vanilla yoghurt earlier, felt good man.. |
Vesper
08.24.11 | I don't know if this counts, but mango lassi is pretty much my favorite drink ever.
I'm too poor to afford a good blender right now, though, so I've had to stick to Jamba Juice this summer. :/ |
AngelofDeath
08.24.11 | "I don't know if this counts, but mango lassi is pretty much my favorite drink ever."
Aw, man, those are so good. |
singthewordhope
08.24.11 | made a great one this morning with apple/banana/vanilla protein/unprocessed almond butter/skim milk/ice it was amazing |
BallsToTheWall
08.24.11 | Heres a good one. Milk or plain almond milk or water, tghrow in crushed ice, mix with 1-2 scoops of chocolate whey protein, throw in a few graham crackers, and a teaspoon or two of peanut butter and you have pure deliciousness. |
MaskAtTheMasquerade
08.24.11 | can't even remember the last time i went to jamba juice. i'm sure i'll be going frequently once i move to NY.
i always use skim milk when i make my own but i never use any other ingredients aside from milk/OJ, fruit, ice and vanilla yogurt but i wanna try some of these unfamiliar combinations cause they all sound GREAT |
Vesper
08.24.11 | Ooh, where in the city are you moving, Mask?
I'm trying to find a new place, since my flatmate is thinking of ditching for Austin.
"Aw, man, those are so good."
Indian food, in general, is fucking delicious. But, seriously, I'd get fat from mangoes, if I could. |
aok
08.24.11 | power sized citrus squeeze with daily vitamin is my jamba juice. yeh jamba juice is mad good |
MaskAtTheMasquerade
08.24.11 | Brooklyn! I think the place is about a 20 minute subway ride to manhattan too which is so fine |
eggsvonsatan
08.24.11 | Smoothies are integral to my life as well. However, I much prefer making them myself to getting them at a restaurant. I usually use some combination of banana, mango, peach, and berries. I usually make them with vanilla yogurt and honey. Also very strange is that I hardly eat any fruit, but I can drink it like its nobody's business. |
MaskAtTheMasquerade
08.24.11 | fuck yeah, making your own homemade smoothies is always worth it. And i agree 100%, i'd take a smoothie over eating fruit evvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvery time |
kangaroopoo
08.24.11 | mmm Smoothies - make myself one nearly everyday
frozen berries, strawberry sorbet + goats milk (bloody lactose intolerant) |
Uranium
08.24.11 | We have a Keva Juice here and oh man, the acai berry smoothie is so good. I hate how much I love it. |
Vesper
08.24.11 | "goats milk (bloody lactose intolerant)"
Uh... goat's milk has the same percentage of lactose as cow's milk, doesn't it?
@Mask - Cool, I'm about the same, out in Bushwick, but I'll probably move to Williamsburg or someplace less shitty soon. |
kangaroopoo
08.24.11 | @Vesper - yeah you're right they do have the same lactose %. It's something to do with the fat and protein content that makes it more digestible. |
aok
08.24.11 | haha mask. when you get to times square call me -- i'm at that jamba juice at least every other day |
