All Right, Enough Shenanigans For Now...

Good times here on Sputnik...but now I've a bad case of RLS (real-life syndrome), so I've got to get ready for work. List is the album pool so far for my top album list (in other words, my favorite albums from this year so far). Just ones I've heard. Pretty generic.
1Anchor & Braille
Felt

Great alternative outing by Stephen Christian. Love "Like Steps In A Dance."
2Brand New
Daisy

First Brand New album I've gotten to be excited for release. Love "At The Bottom," which isn't 'the' track to like, but fuck it.
3Dream Theater
Black Clouds and Silver Linings

Because it's Dream Theater, and I like Dream Theater. And it just happens to be their best since 'Octavarium' (which I enjoy IMMENSELY).
4Dredg
The Pariah, The Parrot, The Delusion

Another Dredg album. Dare I say Sputnik is getting tired of this band? Not me. And fuck you, "Saviour" is my favorite song from this album. That, and "Information"
5He Is Legend
It Hates You

Album rules. Case closed. No further questions. If nothing else, either "Dicephalous" or "Stranger Danger" ought to end up on a couple of year-end song lists.
6Mae
(M)orning [EP]

Not really an EP, but it is amazing. Love "The Fisherman's Song"
7maudlin of the Well
Part The Second

It's free. It's good. It's worth it.

It's All Fucked Up! It's All A Lie! This Album Title Is Fucking Ridiculous! It's Alright, Though

I enjoy the campfire-ness. It's bouncy, and it's fun to sing along to. You want 'Brother/Sister'-style songs, check out Brand New's 'Daisy'.
9Mos Def
The Ecstatic

I got it for $3.00 on Amazon.com, but I would've gladly paid $10.00 for it. His strongest work in years.
10Mute Math
Armistice

Hear me out on this: take a drive at night on a deserted highway, and play this album. It'll click, I promise. I only kind-of liked it before, and even though it doesn't quite match its predecessor, I still think it's amazing. Lots of good songs: "The Nerve," "Clipping," "Goodbye," "Burden" and more
11Porcupine Tree
The Incident

Good thing I got into this band this year. "In Absentia" is one of my most played albums of 2009. This is awesome, as well.
12Thrice
Beggars

It's a new Thrice album. That alone gives it automatic admission into the running.
