All Right, Enough Shenanigans For Now...
Good times here on Sputnik...but now I've a bad case of RLS (real-life syndrome), so I've got to get ready for work. List is the album pool so far for my top album list (in other words, my favorite albums from this year so far). Just ones I've heard. Pretty generic.
|1||Anchor & Braille|
Great alternative outing by Stephen Christian. Love "Like Steps In A Dance."
First Brand New album I've gotten to be excited for release. Love "At The Bottom," which isn't 'the' track to like, but fuck it.
Black Clouds and Silver Linings
Because it's Dream Theater, and I like Dream Theater. And it just happens to be their best since 'Octavarium' (which I enjoy IMMENSELY).
The Pariah, The Parrot, The Delusion
Another Dredg album. Dare I say Sputnik is getting tired of this band? Not me. And fuck you, "Saviour" is my favorite song from this album. That, and "Information"
|5||He Is Legend|
It Hates You
Album rules. Case closed. No further questions. If nothing else, either "Dicephalous" or "Stranger Danger" ought to end up on a couple of year-end song lists.
Not really an EP, but it is amazing. Love "The Fisherman's Song"

Part The Second
It's free. It's good. It's worth it.
It's All Fucked Up! It's All A Lie! This Album Title Is Fucking Ridiculous! It's Alright, Though
I enjoy the campfire-ness. It's bouncy, and it's fun to sing along to. You want 'Brother/Sister'-style songs, check out Brand New's 'Daisy'.
I got it for $3.00 on Amazon.com, but I would've gladly paid $10.00 for it. His strongest work in years.
Hear me out on this: take a drive at night on a deserted highway, and play this album. It'll click, I promise. I only kind-of liked it before, and even though it doesn't quite match its predecessor, I still think it's amazing. Lots of good songs: "The Nerve," "Clipping," "Goodbye," "Burden" and more
Good thing I got into this band this year. "In Absentia" is one of my most played albums of 2009. This is awesome, as well.
It's a new Thrice album. That alone gives it automatic admission into the running.
In other news, I also finally got my Zune Software to scrobble tracks to Last.fm (using Zuse), so I'll be on there a whole lot more. I've sent out a whole bunch of friend requests; accept them, bitches!
good list. 9 has been overlooked by many in the sputnikhiphop circle. great stuff.
^^^ And it surprises me
finally someone who agrees with me about He Is Legend. Sucks theyre on a "break" tho.
Great list, good stuff on here. My last.fm is the same as my username, add me if ya want.
hahah @ 8
Also, i'm literally getting Zenses as i type, is it meant to take absolutely ages to find tracks to scrobble?
logic for 12 is ridiculous.
bloc is right, and im still not gonna get that album. so there sputnik
daz ryte. bad boyz fo lyfe.
chambered89 - Oh, I don't doubt. It's just that listening to that Mute Math album while driving at night might help people appreciate it a bit more (or it might cement what was merely assumed about it, but at least you gave it a shot :-P)
Skimaskcheck - Yeah, it takes a LONG time for it to get all your tracks. But it's worth it; between it and Zuse, I can finally record every single song I play with my Zune.
bloc01 - My logic is undeniable.
12 is a dissapointment to me but daisy rules
Everybody, everybody, everybody I know's got...FANGS!!!!
New mwY is...different. But it's definitely a great album.
I can't stand that HIL split. That's ridiculous.
3 and 12 suck, 4 and 11 are good, 7 was alright and I still have to give 6 a proper listen.
I really enjoyed the Thrice album. It's strange, because I can't rank it against their discography, but I enjoy it for what it is (very similar to the mwY album in that regard...and the Mute Math, and the He Is Legend, and the Brand New, actually. It's been sort of a defining characteristic of the albums produced this year).
