Anyone here use this site? Surely, but it’s a killer way to keep track of touring artists set-lists. SPOILER ALERT
so I’ve got this uncle who is a swell guy, but he always looks at the setlist prior to seeing the show.
I always thought that was ridiculous as you are pretty much spoiling any surprises for yourself at the gig.
Guess in his 50 year old days, he really doesn’t give a fuck and just wants to check the setlist beforehand to ensure the show is worth going to.
Anyways, decent tool to add to the quiver. List is the best shows I’ve seen recently | | 1 | | Meshuggah Koloss | | 2 | | Knocked Loose You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To
Regardless of what you think of these guys, the pit at their shows is insane. | | 3 | | The War On Drugs Lost in the Dream
Solid. Driving | | 4 | | Loathe (UK) I Let It In And It Took Everything
Seeing this band live changed my perception on them. I now have 3 of their releases rated a 5. Can’t wait for the inevitable new album. It rivals GTA6 hype | | 5 | | Spiritbox Eternal Blue
Yeah I know, the most “3.5” band ever. But they fucking crush live | | 6 | | Deafheaven Lonely People With Power
Saw them tonight. And yes. I used setlist.fm before hand. Gig rocked | | 7 | | Turnpike Troubadours A Cat in the Rain
Sputbros garlic, being country music. A good band with awesome live instrumentation. | |

05.01.25 | i love it. always interesting to read what songs bands play the most, and what songs they dont play at all. | Icebloom
05.01.25 | Never check it beforehand, I want to be surprised. Last month at a Slowdive concert I was spoiled when I saw a sheet near the technicians which proved to contain the setlist. It ruined the immersion for me a bit
I do like checking afterwards though to see which songs I didn't know | mkmusic1995
05.01.25 | Use it all the time, great resource for many things. I wanted to make a playlist of the exact setlist for the Rush concert I saw in 2013 and it was there so I was able to complete it. | SomeCallMeTim
05.01.25 | only ever check it after shows.
used it here and there for a while but really started using it doing deep dives of Ween and Billy Strings shows sometime after 2017. Was pretty facinated with these groups that would perform for 3 hours straight and do an entirely fresh setlist every night | AlexKzillion
05.01.25 | literally addicted to this site
anytime i do a discog run i'll always listen to a playlist of the setlist for an artist's shows each year as well as a way of fully immersing myself in their work. have done this with basically all my favorite artists and any artist that catches my eye as something i "should" be interested in... most recently death
i've been following metallica's setlists, on setlist.fm and before that the band's website, religiously since like 2009. the band used to (and maybe still does?) post these 15-30min videos on their site for every tour date, which partially consisted of lars putting together the setlist every night and then the band rehearsing whatever oddball songs lars decided he wanted to play that night. pretty much been hooked on the idea of "setlist construction" ever since | AlexKzillion
05.01.25 | in terms of checking the setlist before shows... i'll more or less always check the opener's setlists if i'm not familiar with their music.
i'll also typically check artist's setlists who have shakier bodies of work before i purchase tickets just to ensure i get my money's worth. i wanted to see dream theater in both 2016 and 2022 but they were playing imo pretty awful setlists. had i not checked before hand i would've dropped like $100 to watch them play a lot of my least fav material.
only time i don't check at this point is if its an absolute s-tier artist i know i'll be happy to hear literally anything from | chemicalmarriage
05.02.25 | Meshuggah, to this day is the craziest pit I've ever been in | zaruyache
05.02.25 | I have to drive 2-3 hours for any show, so I always make a playlist of the expected setlists for all the bands I'm seeing just to get reacquainted with them. Lot of times I don't know the openers very well so I want to be able to at least follow along with the songs yanno | oltnabrick
05.02.25 | I used it when I took my brother to his first concert (Metallica) so I’d know when to leave to beat the crowd out the venue lmao | oltnabrick
05.02.25 | Unfortunately his favorite Metallica song is Enter Sandman and they played it last |
