i've spent 10 years on this website

and all i got is this lousy list. list is my favorite digs from the past decade according to my last.fm
1Local H
As Good As Dead

2014

2. Local H - Pack Up the Cats
3. Helmet - Meantime
4. Kid606 - Don't Sweat the Technics
5. Local H - Whatever Happened to PJ Soles?

My first year on this site after lurking since like 2012. Also discovered Last.FM at the very tailend of the glory days before it got redesigned (anyone remember the tool that made band logo banners for your profile? groups and forums? the last.fm integration on profiles?) Back then the user base was still relatively lively (at least compared to now). Shout outs to KrazyKris, BMDrummer, Frippertronics, MyNameIsPencil, and any other inactive users who might've been forgotten with the passing of time that help me discover stuff I was listening to back then.
2Usurp Synapse
Disinformation Fix

2015

2. Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works 85-92
3. Neil Perry - Linage Situation
4. Today Is the Day - Temple of the Morning Star
5. Glassjaw - Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence

Lots of skramz this year, and a whole lot more embarrassing reviews on my end. Still used youtube-to-mp3 at this point (I was too paranoid to use P2P services - still am) Shout outs to JohnnyoftheWell for introducing me to Today Is the Day, and YakNips for all the pg.99, Jeromes Dreams, Usurp Synapse thread bumps.
3Bitch Ass Darius
Follow the Sound

2016

3. Tower of Rome - All Is Lost... All Is Lost... All Is Yet to Be Found
4. Discordance Axis - Original Sound Version 1992-1995
5. Elliott Smith - Either/Or

The top 5 doesn't reflect it but I was listening to a lot of noise and powerviolence at the time, was going through a phase largely informed by LivingThrowaway so shout outs to him
4Despise You
West Side Horizons

2017

2, Charles Bronson - Complete Discocrappy
3. Enemy Soil - Smashes the State!
4. CombatWoundedVeteran - I Know a Girl Who Develops Crime Scene Photos
5. Usurp Synapse - Disinformation Fix

Lots of powerviolence and grind this year, on top of it being the year I graduated high school. Many memories of spending my lunch breaks in high school walking around campus with my second-hand 5th Gen iPod Nano loaded with whatever I find by searching "[band name/album name] blogspot download" on google. Shout outs to the blogs Sophie's Floorboard and Die or D.I.Y.?, among all the miscellaneous ones I can't remember. RIP ZippyShare.
5Today Is the Day
Sadness Will Prevail

2018

2. Usurp Synapse - Disinformation Fix
3. The Great Redneck Hope - 'Splosion!
4. Training for Utopia - Plastic Soul Impalement
5. Pig Destroyer - 38 Counts of Battery

Lost that iPod around the time I first started community college, I still miss it. The forums were still somewhat active at this point too, lots of memories shit posting in it and breaking pages with the post codes. Shout outs to ArsMoriendi for all the posting, and that guy with the Geddy Lee avatar that would have his battles of the wits with that one troll(?) if anyone knows what I'm talking about. Remember the hot girl threads?
