Where Fear and Weapons Meet

Deadwood - dialogue, dialogue, dialogue
14Rolo Tomassi
Where Myth Becomes Memory

Daredevil - Best action in a TV show ever. Best Punisher (yeah, even better than he was in his own show), best Kingpin, Bullseye, best everything. I like this more than the majority of comic book movies and I'm a little nervous about how Disney is going to handle this going forward.
13SOUL GLO
Diaspora Problems

Better Call Saul - Some people like this more than Breaking Bad. I don't, obviously, but this might actually be a tighter show. Zero complaints, everything is perfect (especially that cinematography, hot damn).
12Brymir
Wings of Fire

The Boys - Treating superheros like real life celebrities/politicians is one of the most interesting angles I have ever seen on the genre. It seems so obvious, but goddamn. Homelander is one of the greatest villains of all time. I DO wish they cut back on the shock value for shock value sake a little bit, but other than that, this is top tier television.
11Cryptopsy
None So Vile

Ash vs Evil Dead - I'm a sucker for the Evil Dead franchise in general (my entire leg is an Evil Dead tattoo, this got me into my favorite genre - horror). I was giddy as hell when this was released and was actually way better than I thought. I do get blue balls every time I watch this since it was cancelled, though. If that didn't happen, this might be higher on the list.
10Agalloch
Marrow of the Spirit

Fargo - I actually haven't even seen Season 4 yet (I hear mixed things) but season 2 was one of the best seasons of television I have ever seen. That might crack my top 5 seasons of all time.
9Pantera
Vulgar Display of Power

The Shield - This finale >>> Breaking bad finale. Fight me.
8Steel Panther
Feel the Steel

Eastbound and Down - Nothing to say, just the fucking best.
7Devin Townsend
Empath

Barry - This premise sounded a bit out there when I heard about, but oh my God is this show just fucking perfect. The acting, the comedic timing, the thrilling action, the drama...all of it is just nonstop hitting the mark. If you aren't watching this show already, PLEASE do so.
6Meshuggah
Chaosphere

Breaking Bad - I started watching this while Season 2 was airing. One of the few instances where the hype is actually justified. The only way where I would be this stressed again while watching a show is probably if I start a cocaine or adderall addiction.
5South Park
Chef Aid: The South Park Album

South Park - This is the only show that has made me laugh until I was crying/not breathing when I was in elementary school and then continue to do that for almost every year until now (I'm in my mid 30's). These guys have given me a goddamn life time of laughs. Motherfucking masters.
4Devin Townsend
Ziltoid the Omniscient

Arrested Development (first 3 seasons) - I saw this in high school when it was still airing, and it was the first show that made me realize that sitcoms can be just as well written and acted than most dramas. I cannot even fathom a show ever beating this as my favorite comedy, but I hope I am proven wrong one day.
3Nas
Illmatic

The Wire - Probably the most successfully jam packed show in terms of characters, thematic explorations and multi-layered storytelling that I have ever seen. This feels even less like I am watching a TV show than #1 and #2 on this list in terms of realism, and I will never argue against anyone who has this at their #1 spot. This show is pretty much perfect.
250 Cent
Get Rich or Die Tryin'

The Sopranos - I used to like The Wire more because of all of the complex interweaving plotlines and social commentary, but as I get older, this show gets more and more fascinating to me. This is the most interesting gangster story I have ever seen because the writing is the farthest thing in the universe from trying to make these characters 'cool.' They are deeply, deeply flawed but all of the nuances make them feel more real than almost anything I've watched. With each stage in my life, I have a different opinion on each character and dramatic interaction. This show is pretty much a rorshach test of where I am in life.
1Six Feet Under
Bringer of Blood

Six Feet Under - I watched this show during the worst grieving of my entire life. I took a semester off of college because I lost one of my siblings and I binged this show during that time. No other movie, book, or anything has had as much of an important impact on my life as this show, and not just because of the 'sad' aspect. All of the characters were basically ripped straight from my life in a way I cannot even describe. Maybe not technically the best, but my absolute favorite - and the most emotional finale I have ever seen in my life. I hate and love that it shares the same name as the most comically bad death metal bands in existence.
