Gregory Alan Isakov Awareness/Appreciation Thread

The more music you listen to, the harder it is to stumble upon something that stops you in your tracks with its pure beauty. Gregory Alan Isakov is not a name I'd heard of until recently, and it took my wife coercing me into watching the entire Netflix series The Haunting of Hill House (highly recommended!), which features Isakov's brilliant "If I Go, I'm Goin" during a pivotal scene of the finale. I always find myself paying just as much attention - sometimes more - to scores and soundtracks than the actual show or movie, so my ears immediately perked up as the song's breathtaking music and lyrics washed over me. The only word I can find to describe the sensation is stunned: I immediately googled the lyrics to find out who this maestro of poignant beauty was, and well...the rest is history. I did a discog binge on this artist over the past week, and I'm floored by the quality across the board. He might be my new favorite indie singer/songwriter. He could be on par with Leonard Cohen and Elliott Smith. At the very least, he belongs in the same conversation as your Damien Rices and Glen Hansards. If understated, gorgeous, romantic/tragic atmospheres are your thing, then you're about to be in for a treat. List is his discog ranked based on my first impressions.
