01.09.21 | real nice with sneaker pimps (and always ænima). checking morcheeba, I night-drive for work and trip-hop is all that gets me through tbh | JKing92
01.09.21 | Driving to trip-hop is such an awesome experience. I still have memories of driving at night while listening to "Sour Times" and "6 Underground." Great songs both. | thatbandsucks

01.10.21 | Smash mouth is what I picture they play in elevators of hell. | JKing92
01.10.21 | I actually like quite a few Smash Mouth songs ("Walkin' On the Sun," "Can't Get Enough of You Baby," "Then the Morning Comes"). While I don't think they're, like, the best band ever (I don't really like any of the stuff I've heard after 2001), I think that they were occasionally excellent back in their heyday, especially since the musicians behind Steve Harwell are very tight players (and I don't even mind Harwell's voice as much as many other people do). | BAT
01.10.21 | blink 182 dammit | JKing92
01.10.21 | What's funny about Blink is that I don't really have a strong opinion either way about them. In many ways, I think they encapsulate what was good (the fact that they put peppy fun over self-indulgent angst) and bad (whiny, nasal singing, occasionally cringeworthy lyrics) about the pop punk that followed in their wake. There is plenty of pop punk I hate (Simple Plan, New Found Glory), some I like or love (Green Day), but Blink don't quite fall into either category. They seem like great guys, and I'm happy that the fans are devoted without being in your face about how I "just don't get it, man" (see: Neutral Milk Hotel, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, et al). I just wish the music did something for me outside of making me shrug and think, "OK, cool, I guess." However, that's just me. |
