| Mind In A Box - Ranked
Techno pop (stupid genre name, but not my idea) band from Vienna. | 7 | | mind.in.a.box Revelations
This was the time when MIAB played live (as a rock band, which was quite awful). This album sounds as if Stefan P. had songs in mind that could be played live more easily. It felt more "rock-like" without being rock. It sounds rather tame and more minimalistic (or rather boring) concerning the usage of synths. Still, this is a really good album. Control and Fragments are among my favorites. | 6 | | mind.in.a.box R.E.T.R.O
The only album apart from the narrative that is part of all other albums. It is a fun album that mixes the typical MIAB sounds with Chip Tune music. | 5 | | mind.in.a.box Memories
A comeback to form. The atmosphere of the first three albums is back and sucking you in. The album starts weak with Travel Guide, but during "I knew", "Change" from the debut comes back to mind - fantastic. Some catchy songs like Synchronize, some more complex like No hope - all the trademarks are here. Some flawed songs are here as well like Face it which its cheesy synths and awful pronunciation. But all in all, there are mainly winners on this album. | 4 | | mind.in.a.box Broken Legacies
The best album since Crossroads. Easily. A very complex album. Hardly any obvious hits, except maybe the fantastic Paranoia. Hardly any flaws in this one, but it takes many spins to really appreciate it. | 3 | | mind.in.a.box Crossroads
The first three albums are more or less in the same league. Hard to rank really. It is quite a flawless album, but the upcoming albums captivate me even more. Tip: Amnesia, The Place, Crossroads, Run for your life. | 2 | | mind.in.a.box Dreamweb
This album might be the easiest one to get into. Several hits and maybe the most up-tempo album. It doesn´t start as strong as other albums but grows stronger with every track. Try Machine Run, Sun and Storm, Dead End, Escape. Almost flawless album. | 1 | | mind.in.a.box Lost Alone
The debut. And still my favorite. It is even in my top 5 of all times. It is challenging for sure. Hardly typical song structures. Many songs suck you in through repetition, but man, is this album dense. Not one weak song. If you want easy access, try Take my Soul and Change. | |
