Touché Amoré ranked

Touché Amoré is one of my favourite bands. It's closer to screamo / noise rock / hardcore than a lot of other modern Post-Hardcore bands but I really like the way they're doing it. Keep in mind that this is not a band that should be listened purely for its technicality and entertainment value. This band's one of the strongest points is their lyricism, and you have to relate to, think about what each song means to fully experience each song. Also, from a musical perspective, it's an acquired taste and each album required a few listens in order to click for me. These guys are more than just normal musicians, they're artists.
7Touche Amore
Parting The Sea Between Brightness And Me

This is still good, but to me, it feels like this takes bad parts from their previous releases and tries to execute it with good ideas (and this experience made the good parts of their next albums), but fails in doing so.

Favorite Track: Method Act

Touche Amore

This is their most raw and aggressive sound. Lyrics are messy but still good, besides the lyrics I feel like this is pretty generic skreamz.

Favorite Track: Honest Sleep
5Touche Amore
...To the Beat of a Dead Horse

This is the base sound that they improved upon through years and their releases in the end came to be more cohesive and emotional. This is passionate and strong, but doesn't really shine among their other albums.

Favorite Tracks: Cadence, Nine
4Touche Amore

This is the band's final album after Stage Four, it's their most accessible and this album was too regarded highly by critics. I feel like lyricism is a little bit weak in this one compared to other albums but Touché Amoré is still Touché Amoré. The lyrics remain deep but they're somehow more casual and relatable, to me this feels like the sequel to Is Survived By and this guy is getting better and finding peace. I feel like from a purely technical viewpoint, Come Heroine could be the best track they ever put out, you could call it recency bias too but no denying that these guys are always writing bangers for their album openers.

Favorite Tracks: Come Heroine, Limelight
3Touche Amore/La Dispute
Searching for a Pulse/The Worth of the World

2 of the best modern Post-Hardcore bands who especially emphasize on lyricism come together and decide to do a split. This split is about 8 minutes long and I think it's one of the best EPs in the scene. My problem with this one is that Touche Amore tried to do things in more La Dispute's way because they were just finding their sound and kind of new in the scene, and it's fairly short. I hope they come together for another split.

Favorite Track: Why It Scares Me

Stage Four

The album's name, Stage Four, is about cancer's fourth stage, the terminal and final one. This is a concept album by the band about vocalist's mother dying from cancer. The whole album revolves around that concept and pain / anger / sadness don't only reflect themselves on the lyrics, but also on the vocals. You can hear how much pain he's in. Some themes like how he took things for granted, how he doesn't know what to do, that awkward moments when he didn't know what to talk about when he was left alone with her, how there's no going back in time, his regrets were handled in this album. This album is the favorite of the audiences / critics since it was the one to combine their accessible sound with obviously heartbroken lyrics. Breaks my heart every time.

Is Survived By

Band's perfect album. This album is about how the Jeremy survived, and overcame the troubles in his life. It has deep and mature lyrics, solid instrumentals, a vocalist who has solidified his sing-scream technique after trying different styles in the albums before this one, and most importantly, catharsis. I think everyone will find parts in this album that they can relate to, family issues, depression (and how he tried to solve it), qualities of being a human, addiction, relationships, interactions. There is no other album out there that flows as good as this while the listener can still know one track is different than the other. There are tracks by Touché Amoré that I like more than any track on Is Survived By, but as an album, this is perfect. I put this on whenever I feel sad.
