The Mortal Coil
i remember spotify recommending me this song called the remedy and ever since i heard that song i became a polaris fan, the band are just a talented core band making emotional music, riffs are surprisingly excellent, both unclean and clean vocalists have a dynamic and voice that i just can't forget and it shows emotion and after hearing their new single masochist, i have high hopes that their new album will become something special. | | 9 |  | Crown the Empire
The Fallout
something about this album interests me, is it due to the fact that ive heard people describe them as a metalcore panic at the disco, maybe due to the fact that their unclean vocalist is genuinely amazing, maybe it was due to the theatrics in their music, maybe to all of that but i do know that it is just amazing, with every song just giving off this vibe that i can't explain but every time i listen i get hooked. | | 8 |  | Chimaira

i know these guys aren't scene but i want to include them due to how great they really are, self titled being the greatest tbh, this takes a more groove metal style to metalcore and it is filled with blast beats and oddly timed solos with a killer scream from mark hunter and you get an excellent album that does not let up until it ends, ps the infection is amazing too and it does not get the credit it deserves, check it out. | | 7 |  | Bring Me the Horizon
Sempiternal
usually this album and suicide season fight for my favourite, suicide season has a one up due to the title track which is genuinely one of the most passionate and raw songs ive ever heard, anyways people hate bring me the horizon look at count your blessings reviews but if anything i hope people can appreciate the growth and maturity of the band on Sempiternal, although the religous stuff is annoying, ollie has a killer scream and excellent clean vocals, plus all the band does their par and probably creates their best album. | | 6 |  | Escape the Fate
Dying Is Your Latest Fashion
i'm hardly going to defend the actions of ronnie as a person, he is an annoying and self centred person, and most of that came to light because he realised how excellent of a vocalist he really is, he can sing beautifully, his uncleans aren't the greatest although they fit well, plus songs like my apocolypse and celler door just sound beautiful. | | 5 |  | Beartooth
Disgusting
i can understand why people may not like this album and the guitars get very grading but besides that this has to be my favourite record of all time, so much raw energy, passion and anger went into this and it really helped me through tough times, and it really just proves caleb shomo as a musician after the trainwreck known as attack attack although he actually was one to take charge and change attack attack but that's a story for another day. | | 4 |  | Pierce the Veil

honestly i kinda get annoyed when people mention how bad scene music is and mention pierce the veil and sleeping with sirens, i can see how sleeping with sirens kinda went shit but pierce the veil has always made consistently great music that never lets up and this is their opum magnus imo, just so much emotion and absolute passion went in to this. (ps the last song on the album makes me cry but that's a story for later) | | 3 |  | Ice Nine Kills

if i ever need proof that metalcore isn't a lost cause i would point them towards this, amazing record and the theatricle vibe stands out to me so much, and they have no problem changing up the song and doing something worthwhile without chugging away, plus both clean and uncleans have such a punch to them and i just love it. | | 2 |  | Get Scared

arguably their best record ,it's a more metalcore hybrid and there are a lot more unclean vocals and just beefier guitars, although i wish they done more with song structure although the breakdown in relax relapse is downright badass love this album and i just wish they didn't break up, they were so good. | | 1 |  | Dance Gavin Dance

tbh dance gavin dance can't do any wrong to me, i can see why people do not like them, but with that said i just love this record and dgd as a whole, this was the start of their more interesting guitar work and as much as i enjoy early dance gavin dance this was the first record by them that can truly stand up on their feet without their vocalist, which is a metalcore problem as a whole, but anyway check this out | |
