08.23.19 | This being the one famous for the eye-gouging scene and the shark vs. zombie underwater fight. |
budgie
08.23.19 | my tops are return of the living dead, what we become, and maybe the battery to round out the three. not including parasite-zombies like night of the creeps or rabies-zombies like 28 days later, which otherwise would be up there |

08.23.19 | the beyond is probably my favorite fulci movie buuuut he wanted to make a ghost movie and the financiers forced it into a zombie movie, still a classic. the romero trilogy is easily top 10 and return of the living deads a classic aswell. i'd also back shaun of the dead and 'dead alive'[brain dead] as gems. reanimator deserves a nod |
budgie
08.23.19 | damn dude the beyond is right up there on my next to watch list. now im stoked |
BAT
08.23.19 | it's better paced than zombie/city of the dead/house by the cemetery, the writings a little bonkers buuut great atmosphere and the soundtracks slapppps. |

08.23.19 | Surprised no one has said Evil Dead. Those claymation effects are timeless. Remake of it is great too. |
budgie
08.23.19 | it's because the evil dead films are people possessed by demons. it's not typically considered a zombie film but yeah it's similar. like, i don't think i would could consider demons a zombie film either. |

08.23.19 | Well said b-dog. |

08.23.19 | On the topic of almost zombie movies, cronenbergs shivers is awesome, parasitic sex zombie apocalypse |

08.24.19 | "A disease that turns people into zombies has been cured. The once-infected zombies are discriminated against by society and their own families, which causes social issues to arise. This leads to militant government interference." lol |

08.24.19 | love people glued to computer screens discuss zombie movies. You’re the star of your own movie, baby. |
Egarran
08.24.19 | It's crude irony, but I guess it works for some.
Anyway the point of zombie movies is to give us a reason for depicting morons getting shot in the head. |

09.05.19 | Latest one I watched is, Train to Busan. Enjoyed it but got kinda samey after a while.
Braindead is also my nr.1 |
EoinCofa
09.06.19 | The Returned/Les Revenants series is excellent. Mogwai does the music for the first season. I’ve only watched the French version though |
butt.
09.06.19 | dead alive/braindead is definitely in my top 3. Both dead snows are good too |

09.06.19 | Braindead is super fun

09.06.19 | The Dead Won't Die is....not that good. Sorry to break it to ya. It's not terrible, but just straight up 10 years late. Every idea has been done to death and some of the writing/dialogue/jokes fall flat on their face |
budgie
09.06.19 | ya i had a feeling about exactly what you just said. i don't think i'm going to bother with it. zombie comedies, man... |
Lord(e)Po)))ts
09.06.19 | That's unfortunate to hear. I've loved every jarmusch movie I've seen and the cast is great |
butt.
09.06.19 | yeah good cast, and murray & driver do well with what they were given I suppose. But the whole thing just felt so...unnecessary? It's like they joined the cast just as a friendly favor to Jarmusch |
ian b
09.06.19 | if you wanna count it as a zombie flick, 28 Days Later is by far hands down the best in the genre. incredible atmosphere, with erratic cinematography that only increases the tension in the best way possible, that so many films still try and (extremely poorly) replicate to this day. however, shaun of the dead, return of the living dead (BRAIIINS!!), zombi 2, and dead alive are all incredible and unique in their own respective rights. |
ian b
09.06.19 | also it's not in my top 5, but i feel like zack snyder's dawn of the dead remake gets way too much unnecessary flack. it's a refreshing take on the original, and sets itself apart enough to be a great film on its own, regardless of its thinly similar ties to the original romero classic. also on the topic of romero, Day of the Dead is wayyyy too underrated smh. |
budgie
09.06.19 | contrarily i think 2004 dawn of the dead is one of the more well received remakes out there |
Lord(e)Po)))ts
09.06.19 | @butt when the trailer dropped I did have a little zombieland deja vu and it seemed unnecessary to me as well but was still eager. Sad news. I also love chlor sevigny |
budgie
09.06.19 | speaking of zombieland, i'm not very excited for the sequel lol |

09.09.19 | >i'm not very excited for the sequel
What sequels have you been very excited for? |
UpwardSpiral
09.09.19 | ah yes, Dead Snow 1, 2 are great fun to watch with some friends while enjoying a beer. 1 takes a while to get going though. |
blastOFFitsPARTYtime
09.09.19 | Hard. Only really need the last third of the first one - but the sequel is a riot all the way through. |
budgie
09.09.19 | "What sequels have you been very excited for?" we're wolves, the endless, it chapter 2, uhh idk horror films aren't really franchises these days other than james wan canon |
